These irons seem to be kind of what people were asking for.  The higher precision is noticeable for me when dinged vs the L97 V-forged.  However, the missed dings create some crazy outcomes.  I have missed ding into the wind on 15-17 mph cross winds (not intentionally as I almost always intend to ding the shot) and actually landed on the aim arrow some 15 yards away from the pin.  The distance seems a little odd also, but this has only affected me on a few shots.  One yesterday in the Bandon full 18 RG I was on the hole on the back 9 (sorry I don't know the holes that well yet) that is 161 yards up 3 elevation.  Straight tail wind at 18-20 mph so I hit the 8-iron to 98% with about 80% backspin expecting that it might be a little long and come back down the hill a little.  The shot hit the ground at 148 so either the wind quit blowing or the club came up woefully short of what it should have.

What I was seeing too often, and the other way around too, but only with the L90 ball ( I refer only to dings or close to ding).  Be a good while, if ever, before I go back to the L90 ball with these irons as the L61 ball with these new (? higher trajectory) irons work in a logical way compared to the L97 irons / L90 ball, yep that thing called feel seems allowed.

Can only go by what I see but my tin foil hat guess is they have some more work to do before these settle down with the even funkier balls with these new irons.

How some just transfer seamlessly is beyond little old me, but I did play the L90 ball / L97 iron combo reasonably well, and low winds at an oak CC game carded my personal worst ever score (as a TL) with the new irons / L90 ball combo, and it was not getting better fast.

Swapped to the L61 ball and things looked OK soon. My second RG, with good fortune on a couple of putts admittedly, carded a 25 at Merion B9.  I won't be shooting 25s there too often with any combo but I doubt I would shoot 29/ 30 often enough with the L90 ball / L100 iron combo.......

Maybe it is all me but I don't think so.

EDIT: I remember when the L97 irons first came out several usually sane people were up in arms about whacko stuff - usually with the then highest level Nike L81 ball.  Not everyone got the issue but those that did, much worse than this, saw balls flying off line and strange yardage results.  A few mysterious clubs suddenly unavailable later reports, and the complaints stopped as everything was good as gold.  Reality or tin foil, lo?  Well everyone say the clubs not available part........The L90 ball came out and no one complained apart from at the price, just worked great day 1.  ............Give it a month, bit more testing, and probably all this will go away same even if no where near as bad as that fiasco.  No rush for me as 200 credits a sleeve saving, and shooting OK again is all I care about in game mainly for fun, but the L90 ball did amuse when it worked and it's a shame it does not seem to often enough, for me anyway, with these new irons at this point in time.

After 2 days of play, i'm not impressed at all,  i prefer the nike irons level 97

With low wind, they are good, precise,  accurate but when the wind blow, they seems to go all the way when we miss dings even by a little.

I don't see the advantage of  forgiveness, i have more forgiveness with the nike level 97.

I use nike level 81 with the nike forged and the vapor, i found more spin with forged than the vapor. When we have backwind the ball don't stop as good  and continue to roll more specially with 4 and 3 irons.

The only advantage is the speed of the meter, i don't see nothing else.

Well, it's just my opinion with simple english langage, i do what i can and never easy to explain well my feelings.

    YankeeJim:

and those slight ding misses don't seem to kill the distance like it used to.

Very nice to know.  I lose 2-3 yards of power on my 2-4 irons if i'm more than a pixel or 2 late.  Watching some play on Twitch, I see that not every player is penalized with this loss of power on late clicks but I sure am.  So i'll be upgrading as soon as I reach lvl 100.  Thanks, Jim.

Have you cleared all of your caches, logged out and back in?  I've heard (Lizard69) that whenever you get clubs or balls, it's best to start over by clearing everything and running a disk cleaner (Ccleaner) to remove anything that is stored on it by WGT.

That's only natural given you've played those 97s for a while. Give the same time to the Vapors and I have no doubt you'll see it differently. The difference is subtle but it's there-the Vapors do out perform the 97s.

I've heard a number of players say dropping to the 61 Nike was the key. Maybe give that a try.  :-)

    hey Jim

I use the lvl 61 ball, what I noticed other than getting used to the slow meter is the extra forgiveness is noticeable missing into the wind, but when you miss late with the wind the ball goes a lot further offline than the 97's, especially a tee shot....the less spin the ball has the less it is offline...

Like any clubs you have to get used to them, I plan on putting them in play if they ever get the game back to normal...

I see this too but I've always known that any miss on the wrong side of the wind gets you all of the wind right off the tee or ground. The forgiveness difference I noticed over the 97s came in slight misses-it shows up more in the off-line distance than it does with the length distance. This is with a 33 Callaway. Basically, keep the swing on the upwind side of the ding and you get pretty consistent results.
