OK, I see several that have gone with the new Nike irons have stayed with the Cleveland wedges.  Will you be staying with those, or switching to the ATV to match meter speed?

Like others have already said, staying with the Clevelands here because am so used to the yardage spread and how they behave as regards the short game especially.

Yes like mkg say, we stay with the cleveland because we have yardage with full, punch, pitch, punch and chip shots and rarely go wrong with that

Pretty good thread this one, I must admit.

Price...Expensive, yes, but that's the sign of modern day living now I suppose. I remember buying a Huge bag of Chips from the Fish n Chip shop for 20c, now that might get me 1 chip if lucky...lol

I noticed the last week or so that the meter speed of the L97 Nikes quickened up a bit. Now for a person with a slow brain after 30 years of abuse like mine ...that is not good...lol

Now I know why the meter got faster....lol

So I rented the L100's. After a few games, struggled with the slow meter...lol shots were going all over the place, but that's nothing unusual for me. One thing that caught my eye, every now and again I would do this shot that makes me go wow. There is something there, I thought

Probably the reason why I purchased the set was there is not much at the higher levels we can get. It's a lifetime btween L97 and L103, so because of boredom I got em...lol

Had a few games since, still not flash... but those wow shots are getting more frequent.

Not bad clubs I must admit.

My advise is to get the L97 Nikes first when you reach that level. Get used to using different types of spin on the ball, then the L100's will be great.

They are more precise and playing with Nike balls, the ball sticks very well even with the long irons.  I have one question though, does anyone else have problems with the length of these clubs?  Every iron I hit is short.  My VR Forged was dead nuts for distance, but these seem to fall 5-10 yard short of what they should hit every time.

Took me a few games to get used to the slower meter but then the clubs started to come in like I had hoped.  I am over 65 and the reflexes are not as good as they once were.  I have found the near misses in cross winds are not as severe with these as with the V grooves.  The yardage for the clubs is virtually the same,  I play the Nike 65 balls and am very pleased with the Vapor Irons.  Great club in my opinion and I would recommend them to all my friends at the 100 level or above.

Now I need to make some putts, hehe.

Does seem like the uptake on these is hardly sweeping among the top players.  Any ideas??

I have not tried them, waiting for a free rental weekend.  But, this is from what I have pieced together from reading others thoughts and seeing others play with them.

The main advantage I see is being able to use a less expensive ball and get a nice slower meter.  For instance, rather than a level 90 Nike ball with the level 97 Nike irons, a level 61 with the new level 100 Nike irons..  Or, if normally using the level 61, a level 48 Nike ball with the new level 100 irons (etc.).
