When I have a shot that is like 160 yards to the green & I use an iron that is for 175 yards & hit it just a little shy of the 100%, why does it only go like 145 yards or so?  I'm talking just shy of 100% power, not 75%.  It has me baffled.  I'd like some help from anybody, please.  Thank you.

There's a lot of unstated variables here.  What was the elevation, wind, spin used?

just flat & little wind.  Just a touch of spin on the RZN plat balls.

From fairway with a tailwind.  That what has me stumped.

Sounds like a WTF moment to me.

P.S.  Twice in the last two days I've had drives go like they were only hit with a 3w.

Why would you use a 175 yd iron to go 160 in a tailwind? Plus, with the spin you have, anything less than full power brings out the BS/WTF shots. Why not hit your 160 iron with 1 dot or more spin (factoring in the tailwind) ?
