Yip, did it myself the other day. Wind in face i could not get over mound so i went left as ive done before, OOB it was marked pffft. My only issue is that i could have went too far left. Dont think i will play that way again.

EDIT, Watched yours, as its from tee im not sure, mine was second shot.

For future reference - it makes it a lot easier if you include the link here rather than have people have to go look for it...

There is a limit for the course as to how much of the surrounding geography has been contoured and coded into the game physics. The holes at the outer edge of the course will have an edge where the game simply thinks the universe ends here. Mostly that can be easily seen as a fence line, water, coast, brush, building etc...    But for a few holes (this one is an example) the universe ends halfway across what appears to be a perfectly good adjacent fairway.

If you watch camera #2, you will see the ball simply disappear as it rolls the last few inches. Unlucky - but you rolled a couple of inches off the edge of where the game geography coding stopped. I guess you only find out the limits by pushing them that bit too far  :)  Now you know that you need to keep a bit right if that limit.

Unlucky for it to roll off the minimap area, but why play so far left if you don't mind me asking?

    st andrews hole 14

When I saw this I assumed it was going to be your second shot, due to fearsome headwinds. I don't know why you chose that route, but you did. The little hole map in the lower right has the answer. Whenever you go outside those boundaries, it records as an out of bounds. If you've never gone long on #17, try not to. You can end up out of bounds on the tee box for  #18.

Send WGT a link to the saved shot. They've been know to be generous.

    Hi

you never been out of bounds on that shot!!   Hard to believe as a legend player.

I have been out of bounds on that shot several times in my time at wgt :(

St. Andrews hole 14 heavy wind 30-32  sidewind with some headwind. that second shot can be very tough, when you know you can't do anything else than go left.

Looking at her clubs Scott, she doesn't have a 3wood in her bag. Doubt if her 2nd shot, with a 3 iron, would of cleared that rough/bunker.

I've hit my 2nd shot over there a few times, have never showed it OB. Strange.

My thoughts as well. Anything off the minimap will be OB, so taking that route with the wind and short tees seems a risky ploy.

Was unlucky to roll off the minimap as Scott said, but Andys fairways and an aim too far left, it always had that potential.

Like most of us, I have lost a ball going that route.

you can hit over there and be safe but if you go too far left it is OB .....  best to get a 3 WD and just go straight ahead from now on.....i lost many a ball over there before i upgraded to equipment that would allow me to bomb it straight

and btw there is a shortcut on a Oak par 5 that you can hit right onto another fairway...but same issue if you go too far right it is OB
