    Hi Everyone,

In an effort to continue to make WGT a realistic golf experience, we’ve made some changes to how balls perform when they’re hit from different lies in the rough.

Our main goal was to make it a bit easier for new players to get out of very deep rough, brush or weeds, where lies of 30-50%+ depth were sometimes very difficult to escape. This will impact mostly new players, but also experienced players who occasionally find themselves in deep rough. Like in real golf, it’s now easier and more realistic to get out of that deep rough, especially with a higher-lofted club.

We also wanted to make hitting out of any rough perform more like it does in real golf, so we’ve reduced the amount of backspin and accuracy that can be generated from any type of rough, and the deeper the rough the more impact it has. This change will make it a little harder for players to be as accurate from the rough, placing more emphasis on accuracy of drives and approach shots, and overall course strategy.

Note, there have been no changes to how balls perform on tees, fairways or greens.

We’ve been testing these new rough conditions for weeks, and are eager to hear from WGT players about how they perform on every course and every hole in the game, so please check it out and comment here.

Yet on the other hand to keep up with tradition of complete BS additions we now have Mickey Mouse green speed options

Thanks for nothing, WGT.  Wow... who was advocating for these changes?

Edit:  We’ve been testing these new rough conditions for weeks, and are eager to hear from WGT players

I can save you some time:  We're all gonna tell you to change it back.  :-)

Not sure this is good, why mess things around for players who have  invested a lot of time and balls learning all the shots from around the green.

So what will happen now to my  full backspin flop on #2 Congo from 13 yards away in the 40-50% rough. I normally stiff it.

Your time would have been better spent making bunker play more realistic, because at the moment it is a million miles away from real life golf.

So we spend hours and several sleeves of balls working on Flops, Pitches and Punch shots t be able to get up and down only to have that practice rendered useless by " reducing the accuracy "  Sweet....Thank you so much.  My comment ..."   THAT SUCKS "

The key here is more realistic. Why should you be able to stiff shots more often than not from 40-50 rough whether it is 9 yds or 130 yards. Maybe the scores go up a shot or two per round. Maybe people will have to reroute some of their shots. Finally, course management may be a bigger factor in the game, which on some courses and hole is more realistic. I have played many a person who grips it and rips it and if it goes in rough....oh well I can still make birdie. I say good job WGT for making this adjustment....
