  Another indication of a "multi" is when you see a Tour pro or master offering advice on wedge play (LOL). Most of these people are so stupid that they feel obliged to offer "sage" advice to the rest of us!

   

  For Andy: I understand VPNs & proxies (and understand that they have a tendency to slow down the game) but I really don't believe that multi's are (generally) that clever.  I also wonder why WGT cannot read a player's IP?  All of my Emails contain my IP - does not my sign-in at  WGT also contain this information?

  LMAO, I seriously doubt you could play this game through a proxy server and they have every ones IP address as soon as you get here..so does Google, Facebook, supersonic, trialpay, PL, and others if you don't use adblock....did you ever wonder why your local car dealers ad shows up when you play!

  the problem is they would have to hire some new people full time just to check them if they actually have over 10 million registered users...

  What it boils down to.. ( not that bunny )

  Is that there are so many options if you want to find them, even for a comp novice like me , that it becomes impossible to police with any kind of vigour across the board fairly without taking an educated guess...??

  Hence my example..

  Dan and Andy (this is 'tongue in cheek"), so the people bright enough and talented enough to bring us this game don't realize that they can use a COMPUTER to search their database?

  They don't have that ability in fact it's the reason there have been legit players who's accounts have been cancelled.

   

  Actually...4 once you may be right.....

  If someone does well on WGT to begin with it brings out a backlash

  ( believe me !!  the GF and I had endless conversations with WGT and it was a long hard and accusatory process which nearly saw me give up in abandon 2 years ago...)

  ^^^ So.. my experience is that they, WGT, do not take this stuff lightly ??

  NOW with

  Proxy / VPN / countries WGT can get no access to / going 15ft to ya neighbours house ( if unlucky enough to HAVE to live that close ;-))  ) Having a higher tier player, play for you....etc etc etc..

  We could have a higher expectation of what can actually be done to combat this ?

  Possibilities are endless

  Caveat emptor should OR shouldn't be the case ??

  Though that is the case.....

  Say if WGT had lost Lisa' and my account...would it even register on the Richter scale ? NO !!

  Never will be or ever will be a definitive answer..

  As for the original issue - This game isn't a real video game, an installed video game running through any sort of game server environment, there is no GUID issued, there are no admin tools... nothing. It's nothing more than a hopped up version of Candy Crush. It clocks the connecting IP only, and that can be anything.

  Their broad stroke banning based on the fact that they see two player names connecting from the same IP at a certain time is friggin ridiculous and has no effect on cheating or otherwise.

  If you believe someone is cheating and have proof please take a screenshot of it and submit it to Customer Support. I understand the frustration of people using secondary accounts and making it difficult for people following the rules. We're doing our best to stop this kind of behavior.

  Here`s a hint that a player is cheating . When you see low level Hacks and Amateurs shooting  between 56 - 59  it`s a very good indication . Especially with Starter gear . If we the players can look at the profiles and tell then why cant WGT ? The fact that WGT will throw your best customers under the bus for a buck is really pathetic .

   

  Last week I started looking at stats of winners of the different levels of Bandon Dunes. A few stats I like to look at in regards to the "elite" players here are their birdies to bogey ratio. Alot are in the 20:1 to 30:1 ratio with some way more I am sure. I also look at par 3/4/5 averages. 

  Thus, it is very easy at the hack and amateur level to see who is "cheating" or a restart when you have L14/15 guys with birdie/bogie ratios of 25:1(matching the elite TLs) and par 3/4/5 averages doing the same. 

  I think it gets quite a bit harder at the higher levels to start accusing someone of cheating without direct evidence. But at those lower levels they sure stand out.

  The only IP they have is the outbound IP of the device you're going through which is handshaking with whichever server you're connecting to.  It's not the IP of your actual machine. 

  VPN's don't slow down game play here in anyway at all. Hell running this game though Tor isn't all that bad if you want to.

  Fair point Wheels.....yet a knee jerk reaction ensues I found with a blizkrieg from a CC

  And many members thereof...( lost a gud un I feel ?? )

   ( long time ago for us both but still smarts for me  !! )

  LOL, I get it...however it isn't all that easy and as we all know there are hundreds if not thousands of these cheats...quite a task to catch all, but a little common sense would give you a clue as to who to watch...

  What really makes me sick is that some of these people are ones I knew from the start of my WGt days. They are not bull$hitting me with their new found skill. We used to be almost even at playing and all of a sudden they are shooting 8 under par every round. I would never call any one out, but they don't see me asking them to play anymore. I will never give in to the urge to be a super star on here and disgrace the game of golf.
