Can anyone advise when the next free club rental weekend will be?

I am looking to upgrade my clubs from starters, but would like to try them first.

I am also looking for any advice on which clubs to purchase. There are quite a few posts on this topic already, but many appear to recommend clubs that are no longer available(eg G20's)

In the pro shop the level 95 Max set looks like the best of the best but after reading many of the forums, they are not very highly recommended.

I believe I am pretty good at positioning the aim marker, but missing the ding negates good marker positioning. I am thinking that a slow meter, and high forgiveness clubs are the best for me.

Precision, spin and distance do not seem to be as important, but I am hoping this post will help shed some light on this.

I will also be looking to upgrade my putter and the level 35 Ghost appears to be a very popular choice. I am a try to hit the ding putter.

I am hoping this upgrade will take me to the top levels, in order to make minimal further upgrades.

I currently use starter balls, in order to avoid going to the pro shop every other day.

Sorry for being so long winded here but I wanted to make sure I provided all necessary information in order to get some good recommendations.

    Thank you , glpark

Those G20s are now G25s, just a higher pricetag. These clubs are 3.0 in forgiveness (only the Max's mentioned are better for those L80-L99), However, the Nike V-Forgeds at L85 for just 5 more credits have 5 more yards per club, and .5 more spin.

As for a putter, the L35 is popular, though the L70 Versa has .5 more precision, .5 more forgiveness (which is what you want), and a whopping 1.5 better balance, though for 1695 more than the Ghost.

Hard to say when the next free rental will be, but it's usually done when a big Pro event is going on. I would guess not til Masters weekend, but this month is the Pebble Beach Pro-Am so it could be then.

As far as clubs go, wait til you advance til L85, only two more spots up for you. Then get the L85 Nike irons. Arguably they will be the last set of irons you will ever need.

I still use the Dayton Rossa putter, i've tried more expensive ones, but always stick with that. L55 and at 750 credits, i think it's the best deal in the pro shop.

And while u wait, get yourself two decent short wedges, and a third after the iron buy, replacing the Hybrid. Level 76 Clevelands are quite expensive but the common choice for top players.

With those custom clubs, the Starter ball's meter will become very fast. Tour SD balls are a quality choice in this section.

I sounds as if you've been an amazingly patient individual, having waited and hopefully saved up your credits.  I can definitely say that the high level Cleveland are your bet selection for wedges and the Nike irons are certainly an excellent choice.

I would suggest that you consider the volkin crystal balls, lots of spin, great range and a decent meter to go with those new clubs.  Good luck i your game and may you progress rapidly m8!

Thank you very much to everyone for your great recommendations. I will continue to save up my credits for level 85 and or a free rental weekend in order to make my purchases, and check out the balls you recommended also.

    Thanks, again, glpark

In my 4 years here I'd venture to say that there is normally around 3 Free Rentals per year.

To really take advantage u need to be very high level and low in tier.

glpark: also suggest 3 decent wedges evenly spaced( ie:  60, 80, 100 yds) or something like that. BIG help around greens. that is IN ADDITION to the wedge in your iron set, so u actually have 4.
