Why are a number of state residents not qualified to enter pay-to-play country club tournaments? I live in one of these "disqualified" states and it is extremely frustrating and disheartening to not be able to enter these contests.

Always one in the crowd. Take away the guys hopes and dreams of fame and fortune! LOL

On the lighter side AL, honesty and Integrity within this game, may rub-off to those who lack those qualities.

Not really looking for fame and fortune, but my question was a legitimate one I thought. Is it because of gambling restrictions in these states or some such nonsense? Why does WGT even have an option to "pay and play" if it's not open to every member? If anyone has a real answer to my question, I would appreciate it.

Yes your question is a legitimate one, for sure.  It was the responses that were illegitimate.  As for the restriction, unfortunately that is up to your particular state legislation.  But at the same time, what is the sense in depriving the whole for the sake (or in this case the restriction) of the some?
