    Thoughts and comments appreciated.

So I decided that I would mess around with full backspin with the wedges.  Wanting to play around with the spin in a stroke play game and the CG just don't like to zip back when you want it to lol.  So I load up the Max wedge and the fun is there when wanted.  :)

Both replays using mulligans from the same location, both aimed at the same target, ( a yardage marker at the back of the green)  both dinged and hit full power, full backspin with L71 Nike ball.

Replay 1 Max 64º     Lands 57 yds, zips back off green to 33 yds.  FUN!

Replay 2 CG 64º     Lands ~56 yds and starts to spin back but game suddenly stops the shot at ~55 yds.  This replay the distance was shown in feet not yards, and had a different set of views (well at least one different view) but they were same shot using a mulligan,  weird?

This has been brought up before about the Cleveland wedge and some were saying that it was spinning so much that it could have been digging itself in where it landed.  Now with the Max wedge having MORE spin than the Cleveland wedge,  I think that theory has been debunked?

I will try to add video here after work with bandicam instead of replay links..

I would try other courses/wind conditions as well. try into higher tail or head wind and different holes and then report :)

p.s re that replay, sometimes it can happen. I don't know why though

No news there, fbs on a CG64W from fairway does that. Try it with partial spin and see what happens-high gear reverse.  LOL

    Sir Yellow...we all have different takes on wedges. I own the entire collection of the high level Cleves (4) & the Max (3). For me, the Max performs better overall and the 64 Max wedge ( 50y - 41y ) is my favorite, most used club that is always in my bag. As for that matter, so are the 100y & 75y Max. I will at times lose the 3 wood and add either the 115y or the 80y Cleve depending upon the venue. The 100y and 60y Cleves are next to never used.  ;-}

Would make sense to me if I was only asking about the CG wedge, but using two different wedges to get those results wouldn't matter which hole I was hitting too.  And as far as wind goes, I wasn't hitting them into or with a high wind, so I can't see the wind having anything to do with this particular replay.  Thanks for commenting though.

Yea, I know it wasn't anything new, but wanted to show the comparison with the higher spinning Max wedge and find out why, maybe?  lol   I remember when the CG's first came out they zipped like Max  and then it started doing as it does now.  Think that was how the discussion came up last time.

As far as using partial spin, I did that while getting these replays and the CG acted the same as full bs.  I only used 1/2 bs and 3/4 bs.  I will have to try with just a touch of bs and see what happens.

With the Max wedge, I have landed just in the rough on and spun it back onto the green lol.  It's not very good for consistent wedge shots, but sure the hell is fun when playing random games with lower tiers.  :)

Heh, you got me wondering if I was dreaming so out to CCC#1 I go and this is the difference between fbs and 1/2 bs with a 33 Callaway and the CG64W (don't have the fake wedges-a max wedge goes in a Dodge.)

I'll have to try the L33 Cally later after work.   But here is the two at Pinehurst #1 both choked just past 75% power and it shows why the CG is such a deadly club.  lol

    CG 64º @ PH #1

    Max 64* @PH #1

Interesting comparison hp. I don't think it's very good on WGTs part for two clubs with similar spec to exhibit such differences, but as has been said, with the 64° Cleveland, a touch less than full backspin will give you a good deal more screwback. So the important thing here is, knowing what your club/ball combination will do and using that knowledge to your advantage.

Sorry, had to finish my comment about the ATV's,  I was typing that reply at work when all hell broke loose when a student came into the office yelling "someone call an ambulance!".   Just outside my office at the college, one student found another just laying there.  I was there to take care of the kid while we waited for the campus police/ambulance to show up.   Nobody seen what happened,  only that there was what appeared to be a mental disabled student just laying at the end of a stairway and his soft shelled helmet lying next to him.  Didn't appear to be in pain, but wasn't responsive in the least.  Eyes open and looking back and forth while blinking.  Apparently this has happened to him on campus in the past.  Nobody knew what his issue was, possibly epileptic.  He was in and out of consciousness but I kept trying to make him keep his eyes open.  Crazy stuff, but paramedics managed to get him out to the ambulance.

Back to the ATV's,  I had them before but just didn't care for the yardage gaps.  Perhaps I am just too accustomed to the 60/80/100/120 yardages.  But the matching meter speed of the ATV's still has me wondering if I should get them again and try it over.
