  I have long suspected  that all is not well in the scoring with Blitz games and with the order the players tee off.

  I've missed out on winning a few games which I thought I'd won but shrugged my shoulders believing I must have missed something and forgot all about it.

  However... this morning I played a Blitz  game on Kiawah where I nailed my opponants on 6 of the 9 holes and it was noticable after every hole one of those opponants was scoring more than I, even when I was the closest to the pin.

  The same opponant was also granted first tee off on every hole except the 1st.

  On the last hole this opponant and I were level in scoring, his shot was 32 feet from the pin and I was just a few inches from the hole yet he beat me by a massive 6,000 points.

  I know that bonus points are added on the last hole but there was no way he could have amassed more bonus points than I.

  Then when I went to check  and compare the game statisics between that player and myself so I could see what happened... Guess what?

  Only my name appeared on the scorecard and I was unable to check those statistics.

  So in my mind... my fears have been confirmed - there is a bug in the Blitz scoring and it's damned annoying not to be able to access the statics of the game to see what happened.

  My intention was to access the statistics and prove my claims with screen shots but that was a waste of time.

  Here are the "blitz" scoring rules. It is a bit wacked , but it is by design. They (WGT) want people to continue playing with an outside chance to win, even up until the last hole. 

  How does the scoring work?

  Each hole is worth a base score of 10000 points. Your score is calculated by adding up your total distance from the flagstick with your shot. Like Closest to the Hole games, there are penalty feet added to your distance if your ball lands in a hazard or off the green. Your distance is then multiplied by 100, and that total is subtracted from 10000 to give your base score. Streaks and bonuses are then applied to the base score to give you your final score for the hole. Certain streaks and bonuses can be combined to create unique high-scoring combinations!

  What are the streaks and bonuses I can get?

  Hit the Green Bonus
  • Each time your ball ends up on the green, you’ll get a bonus of 50 points.
  
  Green Streak
  • Each time your ball ends up on the green on consecutive holes, you’ll go on a Green Streak. Once a shot fails to land on the green, the Green Streak will be broken, and you’ll have to land on the green with your next shot to start another Green Streak. Your Green Streak point bonus is not cumulative but rather you will earn the bonus when the streak ends or at the end of the round should it continue through the 9th hole. Therefore if you have a 200 point bonus after the 3rd hole and then hit the green on the 4th hole your Green Streak bonus will become worth 400 points instead of 200 points.
  
  Accuracy Streak
  • Each time your ball ends up inside 10 feet of the hole on consecutive holes, you’ll go on an Accuracy Streak. Once a shot fails to land inside 10 feet, the Accuracy Streak will be broken, and you’ll have to land inside 10 feet again on consecutive holes to start another Accuracy Streak. 
  
  Recovery Bonus
  • Sometimes disaster strikes and you lose a ball out of bounds or in the water. No problem in Blitz! As long as your next shot lands on the green, you’ll get a Recovery Bonus, which doubles your score for that hole. It’s one of the many ways that you can stay in contention in Blitz even after a bad hole.
  
  Hit the Pin Bonus
  • If your ball hits the pin and doesn’t drop in for a Hole-in-One, you’ll get a 25,000 point bonus. A nice reward for having good aim!
  
  Hole in One Bonus/Streak
  • This is the greatest shot in golf, and in Blitz it’s no different. Get a Hole-in-One and you’ll get a 40,000 point bonus and your score for the entire round will be doubled. Get more than one Hole-in-One in a row and you’ll go on a Hole in One Streak, which increases the final score multiplier. This adds to the intrigue of the game, as even the worst of rounds can turned into high scoring ones with a Hole in One. Get one late in the game for the ultimate comeback!

  Thanks Rusty, I'm well aware of all that but it doesn't come even close to explaining my last game and several others.

  It's the green streak bonus that has gotten me in the past.  Miss one green and if your opponent keeps hitting theirs (or vice versa), even if you're landing closer the rest of the way they'll score higher on each hole due to that streak.

  WGT should adjust the scoring algorithm for the blitzes a bit, in my opinion. Not only are the double recovery bonuses rewarding players for bad shots, but you can also get outscored for hitting the green and being farther out than someone hitting the rough, but being closer to the pin. Shouldn't a green hit be more points than ANY non-green hit?

  My complaint is that when you do get lucky and make a hole-n- one, most players will just quit because they can't win. Maybe if you would make the bonus for that less more people would stay and play to try and catch up. The same for hitting the stick. At least make some kind of penalty for those who do quit. This has happen to me at least 3 times. What can be done about this?

  another suggetion maybe incorperate a driving range to try new lubs and a putting green, i know i want to get the speed down on a new driver b4 i play for credits, wgt seriously look into cfreating a Driving Range and/or putting green, this blitz and its scoring is not right and i stick to skins but mostly match play which is simply, straightforward and u do not have to teach calculus at The University of Western to play and decide how u lost a hole when u thought u won. consider the Practice Range for driving and putting and also sand shots and chipping.

  While that sounds good in theory, I call BS on it.  I just played a round against a master, and I landed inside of 10-ft on every single hole, and 7 out of 10 holes I was closer than him to the pin.  Yet he is outscoring me by 10,000-40,000 points on each hole?  He landed his ball 8-ft from the hole, and mine was 1.8-ft away, and yet he scored 12,000 more points?  Gimme a break!
