alanti: It does not instill confidence into the future. Has the game passed it's best before date on this platform?
There's the problem, in a roundabout way. I'd bet my last dollar that it isn't the update with the new rough dynamics that led to the connection problems, it's the introduction of the mobile game on Android. Integrating another platform into the game undoubtedly requires changes to the preexisting multiplayer architecture.
The upside is that we now know that WGT can use it's assets (photos, terrain, physics) on another platform. The mobile game feels different, but it's all on the surface really. The clubs, balls, wind, and greens all behave exactly the same on Android.
The really good news is that they should be able to transition away from Flash gradually - that is, they can build on Unity (or something else), then roll out an improved game on a platform with a future, without needing to wipe out our accounts. Then they can allow as much time as needed for the players to adopt the new game.
