I have to respectfully disagree Sarge. If a computer far exceeds the stated minimum requirements, as mine does, I should not need to tweak it constantly to get a smooth meter. Why does having only one WGT browser window help? Why does pausing at the top of the backswing help? Why do players clean out their friends list to avoid meter lag? How come I need to turn off so many game options to get the game to play well on my computer?
The "90% of the problem is my computer" has been bandied about so much its become gospel around here. IMO its nonsense. WGT needs to take ownership of the meter problem. It is their problem whether caused by their code, the browser or Flash.
Couldn't agree more Andy. I've made this same point countless times. Both my computers are well above suggested specs and neither runs the game right. If you look though, the suggested specs haven't been updated since early 2009 yet WGT admits that the game becomes more intense on systems with every update that adds new features.

I can have a smooth meter on the first hole, and then on the second hole it jerks me out of the seat, and then by the 5th it is smooth again. Sometimes when you hit the ball, the ball jerks along the green. I have used chrome, opera, internet explorer, and sometimes one is ok and sometimes the other is ok, but on all 3 they have a jerky meter at times
I have a 1 year old sony, loaded, and i use comcast cable, which is the fastest isp that I know of. My cache is clean and I put in the game thing download, and I have tried everything. I can go for 10 days without a jerk, and then all hell breaks loose. The last 2 nights the meter has been off the wall on all browsers, and this morning it is smooth as silk
Exactly X,
I've been experiencing the same thing regarding meter being smooth for several holes then can't get within 4 of center for several holes then back to normal. Also meter was perfect all morning then tonight complete garbage. WGT says that ISP speed and load has nothing to do with meter performance but not sure I believe that. Internet load very high in Athens GA with home Georgia game tonight and meter is near unplayable.
Here is a similar thread I posted earlier this week.
Bottom line is I sure do wish WGT could figure out a way to make the game operate properly on far more computers than it currently does. The number of posts on this issue were very few last year but grow exponentionally with each passing month. Crappy thing is they won't even tell us if this is something they are remotely concerned with or trying to resolve.
