And places on the ROW Ryder Cup team just got even harder with Ian (Legaci) joining the fray!

Right now there are 7 players within 4 shots of the last qualifying place for the ROW team.

UEL Ryder Cup @ Chambers Bay :: Team Standings:  after week 14 tourney

see second post page 1 above for explanation of how these spreadsheets work

Below are updated sheets for each Team's qualification status following wk14 results at Merion in the UEL Spring 2015 Tour. Please check that everything is correct: I'm fairly sure I captured every player that declared an interest in qualification (via earlier posts here, or in the Spring Tour thread, or via PMs to myself) but please make sure.

Also, the spreadsheet is misbehaving at times -- I suspect it's so slow that it doesn't fully update every cell calculation while I have it open, and that can lead to certain data not being included when it sorts standings -- so please check that your own results look right. This google doc spreadsheet is truly tortuously slow to run: any techies who could give me some tips please do! I'm using Chrome on a Mac running OS X 10.6.8)

Team USA: qualification standings after wk14 tourney

Team ROW: qualification standings after wk14 tourney

We've now finished 4 events in the UEL Tour out of 12 that count towards the final standings... and the jockeying for team places is beginning to take shape.

For Team USA, Ben's (bhoese) consistent high finishes make him the favorite to secure the top TL credit earner slot, while in the L tier, it promises to be a very close battle between mmyers0 and akash1592 for that corresponding slot. Right now, Rock, Shankette, GolferDadRB, ColumbusStorm, BigKnight, frenchconnect and Wesdogg75 have a lead on the remaining places, but with ab1983, fredsf, DaveDwingdale and baggepance all close behind.

For Team ROW, Saurabh08's superb start continued this week with another win, and he stretched his lead in the TL credit standings. Corwyn now has a very big lead in the L credit standings. Mags is of course a lock to qualify in the next available spot, amongst the 4 next highest credits earners in the Tour; right now, he's joined by Dazza (who missed another week: can't afford to do that often Darren!), Priestess and Daskino. but with duffputt and FairwayRuepel68 not far behind. Those two have spots in the next category along with KonradOse (who has yet to find his typical top gear in the Tour) ... and Adalanar is sharing the last place right now with Tgkomv on the same under par score. Legaci, Mati, JoeMaverick, Andivo and Wontonamo (who also missed a week's play) are all within a couple of shots so it's going to be incredibly close.

Sadly, this week is at Best of Famous (doesn't count as a real course in my opinion!), and since it's comparatively easy, it's going to be a crucial one for all the players on the edge of qualification to play... especially those who may rely on the best score relative to par. Best of luck to you all!

No, it's not too late Jaycen... but 5 weeks of qualifying events (the weekly UEL single-play 18 holers) have taken place already, with 7 weeks left.

If you haven't played any of them so far, then you'll have to do well enough across the remaining 7 events to catch up with others vying for team places. Note though that the qualification is based on the best 9 results out of the 12 weeks, so your 7 results through the rest of the Spring UEL Tour may be good enough.

Presumably you'll be trying for the US Team, yes?

Below are updated sheets for each Team's qualification status following wk15 results at Best of Famous in the UEL Spring 2015 Tour. Please check that everything is correct: I'm fairly sure I captured every player that declared an interest in qualification (via earlier posts here, or in the Spring Tour thread, or via PMs to myself) but please make sure.

Team USA: qualification standings after wk15 tourney

Team ROW: qualification standings after wk14 tourney

We've now finished 5 events in the UEL Tour out of 12 that count towards the final standings... (with the best 9 results relevant to determining the majority of team places).

For Team USA, Ben (bhoese) still has the TL credit earner lead, but it took a hit with both Shankette and KyRock75 not too far behind. In L tier, akash1592 failed to take advantage of a poor week for mmyers0, and they remain very tight at the top there.

Currently Shankette, Rock, akash, GolferDadRB, ColumbusStorm, frenchconnect, Wesdogg75 and fredsf have a lead on the remaining places (with a good week for Fred putting him back into the line-up), but with BigKnight, ab1983, DaveDwingdale and baggepance all close behind.

For Team ROW, fmagnets leapfrogged back over Saurabh08 in the TL credit standings. Corwyn still enjoys a big lead in the L credit standings. Amongst the 4 next highest credits earners in the Tour, Saurabh is currently joined by Dazza, FairwayRuepel68, and KonradOse, with Priestess not far behind. Tess has a safe spot right now in the next category along with duffputt, Daskino and JoeMaverick (who posted a great score in wk15) ... They're challenged by Legaci, Adalanar, Tgkomv, Andivo, and Matildalgaly... but sad to see, Wontonamo missed another week and may struggle to secure a place this time.

We're back to a tough test this week, with Oakmont as our course. Best of luck to everyone!

(and for those that enjoy UEL, today is the last day to join our monthly Tough-It-Out Starters event @ Bethpage: now that's a hard test!)

UEL Ryder Cup @ Chambers Bay :: Team Standings:  after week 16 tourney

see second post page 1 above for explanation of how these spreadsheets work

Below are updated sheets for each Team's qualification status following wk16 results at Oakmont in the UEL Spring 2015 Tour. Please check that everything is correct: I'm fairly sure I captured every player that declared an interest in qualification (via earlier posts here, or in the Spring Tour thread, or via PMs to myself) but please make sure.

Team USA: qualification standings after wk16 tourney

Team ROW: qualification standings after wk16 tourney

We've now at the halfway point in the Spring UEL Tour (with 6 events completed out of 12 that count towards the final standings)... Remember, the best 9 results are relevant to determining the majority of team places.

For Team USA, Ben (bhoese) still has a significant TL credit earner lead, but Shankette, Rock, Ross and frenchconnect (and also Russ, Wes and BK) are all only one win behind. In L tier, akash1592 with his excellent win at Oakmont has opened up a lead over mmyers0 for the automatic leading credit winner spot on Team USA.

Currently Shankette, mmyers0, Rock, and GolferDadRB have the next 4 credits spots, while frenchconnect, ColumbusStorm, Wesdogg75 and fredsf have a lead on the remaining places via scores relative to par. However, ab1983, BigKnight, baggepance, and DaveDwingdale are all close behind. Iconian is lagging though... Time to step it up, Icon!

For Team ROW, fmagnets has opened up a bit of a lead over Saurabh08 in the TL credit standings. A good week for KonradOse brings him into a clear 3rd. Corwyn still enjoys a big lead in the L credit standings. Amongst the 4 next highest credits earners in the Tour, Saurabh is currently joined by KonradOse, FairwayRuepel68, and Dazza. Priestess skipped the Oakmont week (which I thought was one of her stronger courses. Hope she doesn't regret that...) However, Tess has a safe spot right now in the next category along with duffputt, JoeMaverick, and Daskino. They're a few shots ahead of Tgkomv, and Matildalgaly and Adalanar. Legaci skipped a week too to drop back ... Andivo and johehejo are still threatening, just behind.

Hopefully, we'll get credit disbursement shortly for wk17, which finished yesterday. I'll do another update here as soon as that happens.

    Thanks!

Just keep playing the weekly UEL 18 hole tournaments. Corwyn already put you in the qualifying for the USA team.

@Jaycen: just keep playing. Apologies, I had asked whether or not it was right to guess you would be trying for Team USA and forgot to follow up, or include you on that assumption. I've added your name now to the US candidates list, and your scores will be included in those standings.

Note though that it won't be easy to secure an automatic team place having joined the tour almost halfway through... not impossible, by any means, but just not easy. However, I'm sure the team captain will look very favorably upon any player that shows commitment (and skill) every week after joining the tour.

@Mike: I've added you into the list for Team ROW candidates, but again the same applies. It won't be easy at this stage. And it seems you haven't yet played a weekly UEL single-play event. That's the basis for team qualification.

    -------

Note: WGT have done a super fast close-out of yesterday's wk17 event, so I've just updated the spreadsheet so it's very current right now. I'll try to get to fresh screenshot pic posts asap in both this and the UEL Spring Tour thread.

Team USA: qualification standings after wk17 tourney

Team ROW: qualification standings after wk17 tourney

We've now past the halfway point in the Spring UEL Tour (with 7 events completed out of 12 that count towards the final standings)... Remember, the best 9 results are relevant to determining the majority of team places.

For Team USA, Ben (bhoese) still has a significant TL credit earner lead, but Rock, Ross, and Shankette (and also frenchconnect, Russ, Wes and BK) are all only one win behind. In L tier, there was also very little change from last week, with akash1592 and mmyers0, the main rivals  for the automatic leading Legend credit winner spot on Team USA, both finishing with same credit points for a tied 2nd.

Currently, mmyers0, Rock, GolferDadRB and Shankette have the next 4 credits spots, while frenchconnect, ColumbusStorm, Wesdogg75 and fredsf have a lead on the remaining places via scores relative to par. However, ab1983, BigKnight, baggepance, and DaveDwingdale are all close behind. Iconian still lags behind, and needs a high finish or two. ab1983 had missed the last 2 weeks, and 3 overall, so must do well in all the remaining events.

For Team ROW, fmagnets extended his lead over Saurabh08 in the TL credit standings, and will take some catching at this point. Corwyn still enjoys a big lead in the L credit standings, but FluffyGreens has a win (and perhaps another in the works after a great score at Kiawah this week), and could close the gap.

Amongst the 4 next highest credits earners in the Tour, Saurabh is currently joined by KonradOse, FairwayRuepel68, and Dazza. And in the next category of qualifiers, via scores relative to par, duffputt heads a group along with Daskino, Priestess, and Tgkomv. JoeMaverick has slipped one shot out of automatic qualification at this point with a disappointing score last week (but probably one that will be dropped out of his best 9 anyway). Legaci came back strong with a fine score and looks likely to have a very strong best 9 as well. Matildalgaly, Adalanar, johehejo, and Andivo have some catching up to do...

... and, if FluffyGreens does keep posting high finishes in Legend tier, then she is likely to gain more credits than this large group of competing TLs are likely to amass without wins in their tourneys. That will mean one less place up for grabs for the TLs in the last 2 categories.
