You are new so give it some time.  It takes a while to figure out how this game works and what is best for the way you play.  Its not easy to figuring out what clubs to buy until you know yourself and the courses around here.  Keep in mind that each tier is different and has its own difficulty...higher tiers are not just a bunch of guys that have been here the longest...they are actually playing a more difficult game from tees that are farther back, faster green speeds and against more wind.  So don't let scoring averages fool you...a Master is playing a harder game than a Pro and they may each carry the same scoring average.  Its kind of like the Handy Cap Index in real golf.

Here are a few more things than might help you decide what clubs to buy when you are ready.  After being here 1 1/2 years, I've learned that there will always be new clubs around the corner.  Look at it this way...there are beginners, the guys in the middle and the elite players.  All have their own set of tiers, tournaments and equipment.  But one thing that is different today, is anyone, at any level, can own any club once they reach a level that unlocks that club (which was not true in the past).  You can also rent clubs and try them out...but remember, it takes a while to get use to new clubs...they may even seem worse than your old ones until you get use to them.

also, a good wedge can be a huge improvement, but as mentioned above, may not work "perfect" for you out of the box, there will definitely be some adjustment time to any new equipment.

I still practice with the tour starters other than the driver. But only put in the hybrid for blitzs. It's a way to mimick the same swing meter with cheaper no feel balls. With spin balls they hold greens fairly well. They could be something you could hold on to and use like I do instead of going more expensive and just selling them back eventually for only a 25% return. The putter's not bad either. A pro 9.5 driver for 250 credits still leaves you well within your budget.

Or stay with the starters. Advancing tiers tends to stretch the tees and make it harder to manage with what clubs are available.

After reading these post I think I will try and hold off on a purchase and learn the game more. I am not shooting horrible but not competively. For example I have been playing an unlimited 9 hole tournament and shooting around 34/35 and the leaders are hitting 30/31. I have plenty of birdie opportunites but they are usually 10 feet or greater. So I guess the answer is get better at putting.

With that being said I still want to post the items I had been looking at:

I am at level 27 now.

You mentioned you were going to help me with club selection. Here are a few things I am currently interested in. Let me know what you think and your recommendations.

    Driver - Rapture V2 10.5

    Wood - Rapture V2 Fairway

    Hybrid - Rapture V2 3 Hypbrid 21 degree

Irons - Rapture V2 Graphite or Burner Plus Steel

    Putter - Spider

The driver would help me score better probably on par 5s.

The wood or hybrid would help on par 4s and 5s.

The iron set would help me on all but specifically 3s and 4s.

Putter would help alot. This is one of my weaknesses. I seem to get a fair amount of birdie puts but are usually 10 feet or greater away. Maybe I just need to learn to putt better. I usually get it within inches to 3-4 feet from 10-30 feet.

I got to where I am now using most of what you mentioned ... the driver is great can go 250+ yds easily and very easy to hit with. I would suggest one fway wood it leaves room for another wedge. As for the irons the  burners are a great and cheap option - with decent spin and forgiveness - but I would personally recommend the rapture irons as they have the same meter speed as the driver... allows you to get the rhythm. As for the spider putter ... i preferred my beginners one.

If you want more precise approche Rapture irons are a lot accurate than beginners ones, but with some practice Spider putter will help you a lot and will be very accurate for putting.

The precision, forgiveness and slow meter rate are the most important things to look on buying equipment for a beginner.

Wow. Joey's on a roll and dispensing some good stuff. Good advice.

I answer questions like the OP's by simply asking where do you lose your strokes now? Off the tee, around the green or on the green? Figure that out and the order of clubs should be  evident. GL

The Answer putter is available at level 28

It has more precision than the Spyder.. Belive it or not, precision (more putts start on line)

Is more important than forgiveness. The Answer has 1 full ball more precision.

I'll need to cut back on the caffeine YJ.

For the newer guys, check out my Blog.  I consolidated some of my club buying notions...not necessarily a right or wrong, just passing on a little experience.  I learned a thing or two while I was putting my thoughts together, as well.

I know, I know...I maybe I should actually play a little golf instead of talking so much (Smile).
