DEFAULT DISTANCES ON PUTTING

  How are the meter defaults figured out on putting.  I can't tell you how many times I have been surprised by them.  I know I should look and check WGT since they make no sense some times, so no sarcastic ass posts about checking them please.  Had a 14 foot putt 6 inches downhill on 3rd hole on merion and was defaulted to 30 foot meter?  Does that make sense?  Just another FUBAR WGTISM?

  They always give you 30 for a 14 footer. I don't suppose it will ever change. Getting into a routine before each putt is the only answer at present.

  Up and down is not taken into consideration, and ball lies on the fringe cause very long scale settings.

  hi

  it's a putt distance +5ft rule, so anything over 11ft will give you 30ft. Caddie should not always be relied upon for proper distance on a the club.
