After a month...
Servers and/or net codes are weak. Way too many disconnects and the lag. while not constant, happens enough to make it difficult to be precise with game play.
Game is exceptionally difficult...which would be fine if there were more rewards for one's time invested. Making a game difficult and pricey is a bad combo in today's gaming environment...which would explain the small player base.
Course views are limited and mostly unhelpful. Be nice to know the lay of the green or fairway before I get there! The overhead views are effectively useless.
Seems like there was some potential here for a great game...but half a dozen years into it and still having issues like these doesn't bode well. I suspect it has gone as far as it ever will.
Oh...and who's the genius who thought defaulting the putter to 150ft when the ball is on the fringe...just another example of poor design.
The game's physics model seems very well done...balls react as they should under the given conditions...very well coded (which makes one curious as to why the net codes suck so bad??).
Graphics are nice and don't over tax the hardware.
All in all a good game...but will need some serious fixes before it ever gets a decent percentage of the gaming population.
