Thanks Scott - was 99.9% certain that was the case but nice to have any doubt removed. Ah well, we tried...

You're welcome. Do you know about the 'Character Map' Kelly?

I do indeed - rarely use it though.

Oh, and by the way - the "ultimate" width of any picture/table on forums is 480px (500px makes them go right to the right hand side margin whereas 480px centers them nicely.

Okay, I was just thinking that the font names in the character map would be common to most peoples computers, so if you used those, then most people would be able to see them, just a theory though.

Was my last picture off centre, too big?  Your signature pic is aligned to the right on my screen.

Hmmm - let's test this again - I might be totally wrong about 480 being ultimate.

    480:

    500:

Not a huge difference - how do you make your picture go all across the column?

Priesum: "- how do you make your picture go all across the column?"

I just play around with the HTML code.

I think 444 pixels is the optimum width for a picture as that is the width of the post content area and that will centralise it across the forum post area.

    very well done thanx

    Trevor

    You're welcome.

just mentioning that i have edited the 3rd post to also include :

    • scorecards & replays
    • creating clickable links

if all that i have done can and/or will help some people, then i can say ''mission accomplished''.

From what i read above, not everyone can see the same format of letters !? I don't quite understand why as i would think that we all have a very wide variety of formats. So i was just wondering if anyone else could also see the blue letters and format i used in my previous post ?

here is a picture of what it looks like for me :

Thx to let me know because if most people can't see the fancy letters + colors, i won't bother using them.
