How about an option to leave "chip view" on all the time?  Frankly, I switch to it on almost all approach shots to get a look at the scale as much as the slope.  If I go to the trouble to calculate exactly 6 yards of cross wind, I'm not just going to eyeball the aim when I can use an exact grid.  You really want the slope indicator for punch shots as much as pitches, given how they tend to roll out.  It's a minor hassle to switch back and forth just to see the grid, but its still a hassle.

Nice idea, it would be good to toggle on/off a grid round the aim arrow and drag it around, fairways and greens with any club and shot type.

That is a great idea but chip view is not always correct. The straightest camera angle usually is. Then there are those......other putts.
