Bart's memory is about as good as his loud mouth as I got disconnected standing on the tee at the 6th hole and never hit my drive in the first place so how the hell did we lose the hole anyway !!

Oh and speaking of waiting what about the 45 minutes we waited for your partner to come back online, i guess that was our fault too !!

I don't want to carry on but really if you all see it from my point of view all this ridiculous winging from Fartmania is not needed in the first place.  I've already apologized for the disconnection and made an effort to make arrangement to play the match again.  It's been a great tourney and I owed it to Lou and my club to play the games in the best spirit and so i do feel bad about the unfinished game and just want to put in my best effort to complete the game so there's no need for this craps anyway !

I'm all ears if you want to reschedule our match, Coolswing, but let's make sure people know the order of things here, too.  The way you tell things isn't exactly correct or in the right order.  Here's what happened, from my point of view......

I mostly let Clarence set-up the matches.  So that's what we did here.  He asked me if Friday at 2:30 Eastern was good.  I said yes, so that's what was planned.  At 2:20pm, I showed up.  I didnt have either Coolswing or IMCoola as friends yet, so I asked Clarence if he has heard from you two.  He said no but Coolswing was red.  So we figured once 2:30 rolled around, it would be time to play.  Once 2:30 came and went without any word from either opponent, I requested Coolswing and IMCoola as friends.  They both added me, and both showed as red.  Clarence also sent messages to the both of them.  Anyways, soemtime around 2:50ish, Clarence told me that he heard from one of you, saying you needed more time.  Thats fine, but I certainly wish that would have just been conveyed to us, rather than just letting us stick around with no word.  To me, that's rude.....but thats just me....maybe other people don't think that's rude.  Anyways, finally, a new time was established....3:30.  Once we finally got going, as mentioned before, it took us nearly 40 minutes to arrive on the 7th green, which is where Coolswing disconnected.....and never returned.  Clarence and I agreed that at this point, we don't know what we can do.  So later on, I posted here in the forum.  Now....Coolswing, you seem to have been irritated by what i wrote.....but those things were all written BEFORE you sent your private message to me.  You make it sound like you sent me a message, and then I came on here to badmouth you or something.  NOT THE CASE.   You didn't write anything to me for about a day, after the disconnect.  So of course I'm gonna be irritated.  You can't tell me that you wouldnt be.  I think most people would find the situation rude.  But whatever.  Just make sure when you come on a public forum, that you tell the whole story and in the right order, so that people judge things properly.  I'm not mad....i just want to play the match and move on.  Not everyone is going to see eye-to-eye on here, and that's fine.

    And now there's namecalling?  hahaha

Your opponent will confirm what the score to the match was.....we completed 6 holes.  You won holes 2 and 3, and we won hole 6 when Clarence made a 10 foot birdie putt.

We were leading 1 up thru 6 holes and we're on the 7th tee when Vic disconnected what wasn't his fault though. On 6 both approaches were hit to 11 feet and I missed my putt while Clarence made it.

This tournament is supposed to be fun and guys...you don't really behave like that...

Now Now .. your all big boys ... if you can't finish just let me know and I'll most likely crown the guys who were in the lead as winners.   No need to go "below the belt".

Truthfully though Bart ... you and Clarence must be able to realize that 8:30 AM to 5 PM EST Monday to Friday is a hard schedule for most people to fit games into.   That's when most people in US/Canda work or others out of the US are asleep ....   I know that 90% of the time I can't make those hours, we got lucky I had off the day we played a week or so ago.   Is there any way you 2 can be just a touch more flexible ?

Our opponents are not in the US....neither one of em.  So I think by saying, 8am-5pm is a pretty big window.  Thats 9 hours a day that I'm saying we can play during.  How is that not flexible in this case?

Also, I have never been told a good time for these guys.  I sorta just figured that somewhere in a 9 hour block of time, a common ground could be met.  Never envisioned that I would be called inflexible when I'm saying I can play anytime during a 9 hour span.

I play this game during work hours because my work computer handles this site best.  My home laptop has SERIOUS issues with meterings.  I just don't plan on going into work at 7pm or something like that.....as the risk of sounding inflexible.

And thank you to IMCoola for telling the truth about the score.  I don't feel its fair to crown the leaders after 6 holes champions...but, it's your tournament Lvietri.  I still don't appreciate the name calling either.  Don't think I deserved that at all.

Wow, you take the weekend off and you see what happens :).

I think this was sort of the perfect storm of things coming together. It's a shame, this has really be a great tournament and I think both teams really enjoyed playing it. I think we can still have a really fun final, there's no reason scheduling issues have to ruin it. Yes, Friday didn't go as we planned, but we're all grown-ups, we can figure out how to get it in. Seeing as it's the last match, I don't think we're on any tight deadline. Love to try and get it in this week, but if not, that's okay too. Maybe a week to cool-off might be good for everyone.

Re: Last week, I didn't read all of the posts back and forth, but basically what happened was that Vic and I have been communicating about when to play. I told him we were available anytime between 8 and 6 EST, and he said that wasn't a problem for their team, which was great. We agreed initially on a 2pm EST start time, which was later amended to 2:30 at their request. A few minutes after 2:30 when we hadn't heard from them, I msged both of our opponents just to let them know we were ready to play. I think we heard back around 3 that there were some issues, and I think we started playing around 3:30.

I'll just apologize to everyone right now if I was late in getting on afterwards. I had blocked off 2:30-3:45 on my calender for it, and honestly I had another appointment at 4:30 that I was preparing for. The late start time wasn't fatal, but it made my availability somewhat spotty, so I apologize for that.

I also have a young son, so I know what can happen when your kids are involved. It happens. Just like if I'm at work and I'm needed, I'll sometimes DC. We knew it was a possibility. Family/work etc comes first, we all know that.

Re: scheduling, we'll definitely try (and have tried) to be flexible to meet others needs. We have both come in earlier (7am) or stayed later (7-8pm) to get matches played. That basically gives us a 12 hour window to get a match done, which usually is enough. I don't think either team was being inflexible about scheduling, in fact, it was one of the easiest matches to get in, it just didn't quite work out due to unforseen circumstances. When you have 4 players, sometimes these things happen.

Bottom line, I think we're all just frustrated that a great match didn't happen. We were very much looking forward to it, win or lose, and I'm sure the"cool boys" share that sentiment. I know Bart was really pumped up to play two of the games' greats, and it's always disappointing when something you are looking forward to doesn't happen.

It's been a great tournament, and I think it'll be a great final (the actual game play was exciting, with Vic drilling it close at 2 for bird, Imcoola chipping in at 3, and us making a 11ft bender at 6 to cut the lead).  Let's just relax and try and get it played.

Thanks everyone, looking forward to playing the match :).

Thanks C for being a stabilizing influence ... anyone who's played in these international matches knows --- chit happens .... i'm sure all of you will give it your best shot so we can crown a champion.

But I have to make one comment .... I think you meant to say you were really looking foward to playing ONE of the games greats and he happened to have Chris as a partner .. right ???

    :) .... (I just couldn't resist)

No rush ... we'll finish however the 4 of you can schedule it.

    Thanks so much gents ...

    Lou

LOL Lou. I'll let Chris have the next dig, if he wants one :).

Just FYI, I suggested last night to Vic that we play a fresh 18 holes with Vic/Chris starting 1up (which is where we ended). I hope that is okay with everyone - in effect, we'll be playing 24 holes, which doesn't seem unreasonable for a final.
