    lvietri:
Yoda .. to answer your question if someone bows out for an extraordinary reason (like they died) before the seedings are posted and wants to invite you that's ok with me - just tell them to message me.  Once the seedings are posted I am not going to re-do it and there will be no substitutions and the other person they will forfeit their next match.

No offense, but that is not consistent with your rules.  The rules state, in bold and caps, presumably for emphasis: NO SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED FOR ANY REASON

If the player died, it's very unlikely that the WGT community would find out definitively prior to whatever deadlines are set.  Furthermore, if a player wanted to bow out, they could just come up with an "extraordinary reason" (such as a death in the family, car wreck, etc.,) and you can't possibly check the veracity of the claim.  In effect, this means substitutions can be made so long as the player is willing to come up with some crazy excuse, and most players would do so instead of robbing their playing partner of the chance to continue on in the tournament.  As such, the rule and your interpretation of the rule are completely contradictory.

I realize that you'll probably do the opposite of what I suggest, simply out of spite, but substitutions save everyone a lot of grief, and WGT is not a serious competition, but rather a game played for fun.

No offense but your not a participant .. it's none of your business.

However I am sure the 128 players who have decided to play can sleep well knowing they have you to look out for their best interests.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for putting on this event, I appreciate it. I also appreciate that even though we have nowhere near the skill level as some of the fine folks here, we're allowed to participate without ridicule. I may joke around a little but I find if I take this game to seriously, my laptop would find it's way out our 11th floor balcony with me thoughtfully smiling ... "no more bad meter days".

Out of curiousity sake, is there anyway events like these can be watched? I mean it's nice when I get to actually play Masters, TM's & Legends as I get to learn a little more & pick up on some tips. I guess I'm just hopelessly addicted to a game I can no longer play in the real world.

Thanks again for taking the time to add to the WGT experience.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Switz.   The intent was to give members of the WGT community a chance to play against the names they see on the leaderboards in a fun format ... that's why the members of our club were waiting for Alternate Shot.

The Deviations also asked me to also thank all of the members of the community who stepped take time out of their schedules to participate.

There is a way to watch matches ... some of the Ryder Cup matches were put on the internet .. but it called for a 3rd player to broadcast a 2 some.   Not sure how to do it with 4 players without impeding someone's meter horribly.

Hopefully we'll be able to start soon.    And don't worry Switz ... you'll definitely be playing with one of the top seeds ... :)

Reasonable people, when faced with misunderstandings and concerns (i.e. the yellow highlighting), do not get pissed off, but rather explain themselves to clear up any confusion.  Reasonable people also don't contradict their own rules simply to contradict someone that they don't like, purely out of spite, nor do they demand that someone leave a thread just because they explained a very clear, unambiguous rule to another user.  Perhaps if you tried to be more reasonable, you wouldn't be so upset right now.

Don't see where i was upset at all ... No offense .. but your not a participant .. and it's none of your business how the tournament is run.   Funny how the only one confused is someone who didn't take the time to find a partner and sign up for the tournament.   I would reply the same way to anyone who is not playing.

Again to the community if anyone who took the time to find a partner and sign up has a question .. please feel free to let me know.

    Good Luck to Everyone,

Well Charle if you would have taken the time to read it befor you post you would have seen that Lou was highlighting the top non Deviation players that have signed up to play. So there was no need for him to explain anything.

Any chance, say maybe the night before the Big Dance we could get The Deviation group together for a "night on the town", Canadian Style ?

3 Texas Mickeys & a Keg will be supplied as well as fuscia speedos. It's only -17c right now so the weather shouldn't be an issue. This will be in addition to my proposed and soon to be patented "WGT Handicapping System", for the recreational golfer.
