A company's or course's logo golf ball given away for the Virtual Tour tournaments should be made consistent so that they combine in players' inventories. Some players who have entered the tourneys now have three Transamerica balls  (one white, two red) with the exact same attributes in inventories. It makes a lot more sense from a customer service standpoint to allow these balls to accumulate into sleeves so players will be more inclined to use them in games.

From a business POV it's better to promote further purchases.

From a business standpoint you can't sell them if you don't have them available for sale. Two of the three are not available in the pro shop.

People actually using them and liking them in competition is more likely to encourage replenishment sales than people letting them sit in inventories or discarding them. It's not practical to start a competitive round with only one ball in the bag.

I think they should give you the ball you normally use for playing...I personally don't care if my ball sh!ts snowflakes or hearts while airborne..LOL

A business or course logo ball is part of the advertising for the business or course. It's a promotion. If people find it's good enough to play all the time it becomes an even more successful result of their advertising with every repeat sale of the logo product.  An even more effective use of those advertising dollars since the logo is then viewed multiple times by others and beyond the time constraints of the original promotion.

As for changing it to the ball you normally play, that is simply not the purpose of the giveaways.

Thinking outside the box for a moment, though, it would be an interesting idea to have WGT work out the programming and sign an advertising deal with a company like Transamerica to offer a Transamerica logo alongside the ball manufacturer's logo for a reduced price at the time of purchase. Something along the lines of , "Buy any sleeve, agree to add the extra advertising to it, get 5% off the price." WGT could then pick up that 5% from the advertiser so they don't lose any income on the deal.

Or Johnson and Watson could say "Get 5% off by playing with our balls!"
