The heavyweight bout between fmags and poldi got me thinking about the potential for there to be a WGT Community Spotlight similar to what they had for CC of the week a while back.  Here goes:

If there is an agreed-upon match between two TLs (or maybe a TL and a very, very good L of note) scheduled in the future that the forum peanut gallery might want to see, they could tell a WGT mod ahead of time (say, a week or two) and have the matchup declared on a weekly thread.  Obviously it'd only be open to people with a Twitch account, and I said TLs and a very occasional L because opening it up to everyone would make it way too long and complicated.

Then on the Monday of every week, a WGT mod could make a thread, listing all the matchups for that week, as well as the day and time they'll be playing and broadcasting live on Twitch.  That way if anyone in the forum wants to see that match, they can go there and watch.

It might be a way for the forumites to sit back and have real-time chat with each other while watching two players they most likely know from the forums and having played in the past.

Just set it up for a Friday (just picking a day out of thin air) and start a thread announcing it that Monday.  We'll see it and we'll tune in.  Edit:  Good idea, Mike.

Good idea Michael. You and I (me- whatever..I was always too "in the clouds" at school) can do the inaugural match. Only, we use starter clubs and balls. It's the only way I will have a chance with a player that has a 50 average :-)

I can twitch it, if Hardee's doesn't have a decent connection. They do give you better and faster connections if you order more than an iced tea, too.

Not a bad idea.  I was able to watch the last 6 holes between fmags and poldi.  It was not the best viewing for me because of my connection.  I do not have twitch but have played in some games that were twitched though.  In the chat I offered 4k MPC to anyone and got a taker in Walk0fLife.  We played 18 holes best of par 4's 45sec clock.  Was a pleasure to play against one of the top TL's.  I managed to pull out the victory on the 2nd extra hole.

I would welcome the opportunity to play any of he top TL's that would be willing to play me.  I play later at night usually between 8:00pm and 2:00am cst.

You know the drill - I'm fine if it's not too late in the evening.

I could play, but we have to do 30 second clocks.

Sounds good. I think ALL of the twitch matches you are trying to get started should be done like this. Starter equipment and balls, and 30 sec clock. Definitely don't need any longer using starter crap clubs as you have no control over where the ball is going anyway :-)

I can Twitch it and post it on my YT channel. Maybe it'll garner some interest.

Did you see what Dee said? CTTH...what's up with that?

Joking aside, it is a good idea. But, it will have to be done by the players.

30 secs?  What will us calculator players do?  lol.  I am intrigued by using starter balls and clubs.  That could make from some entertaining viewing.  Need help setting up Twitch.  I think I have 3 GIGs of RAM... hope I said that right.
