Why do they waste the programmers time to put these type of things in the game

    hpurey:
Didn't get the last ball message the last two tries at the qualifier.  Just loaded up another try with my last L81 Nike ball and no message.   Last try I loaded up my last 2 L90 nikes and when the first ran out after a couple holes, the last one was put in play with no pop up reminder.

Strange, I received both reminders, 1st it was 1 hit left (which I ignored) and then 1 shot later the "last ball" pop-up appeared (which I used). So (at least this time around) it was the same as always.

Me too - please bring back the original tag - at least the onus is then on the player to purchase or not

And maybe this addition is the reason for the new forfeit bug in alt and match games. Seems like every time they add a course or feature something else goes wrong

Tested this after yesterdays update with a old Lexus ball that was in the red.  I did not get a warning that I was on my last ball when I started the game and I did not get a warning that I was on my last shot of that last ball in the game.  From my experience, there seems to be no avenue to renew your golf balls while in game.

Note:  A fellow I was playing with earlier in an alt shot game was on his last few hits on his last ball and was waiting for his "warning" so he could buy more.  Hit the bugger in the water and had to play with starter balls.  No opportunity to buy more.

We have taken a big step backwards in the convenience of in game ball management. Or the system is FUBAR and needs some more fixing.

R u sure that this ball is still in the Pro Shop? Otherwise, no chance to buy, no warning sign.

OTOH, if the "last ball" warning would have been replaced by a "last shot" warning it would indeed be a step backwards. (still have to see it).

Yes it is still in the Pro Shop.  I bought them after the SNAFU.  I ran into another golfer later who said he also was not receiving in game warnings.

    Hope they fix it soon.

Good catch alosso!  That would explain it. The Cobalt Lexus ball

is available in the Pro Shop,

as are most sponsor balls.  However the old white Lexus ball:

is not sold in the Pro Shop.

I just tested it and the ball I used is still in the proshop.  The feature worked flawlessly.

After searching through the 60+ balls in my inventory I found a single ball with a few hits remaining and teed it up on STA.

    1st notice:

After pitching about the first fairway 10 times I got the

    2nd notice:

X'd out that notice and took the final shot and got the

    3rd notice:

I clicked on Play With Starter Balls and resumed play with the rock.

Three opportunities to avoid playing with the rock.  And as a 4th, one could still open a new browser window, go to the pro shop and buy more of that ball at any time in a game.

Just be aware a few of the sponsor's balls (white Lexus and Dove to name two) cannot be purchased so use at your own risk.

**edit** I just noticed there are also some WGT specialty balls in my inventory that are NOT sold in the pro shop.  A red holiday 2011 ball and an orange Halloween ball.
