I too have to ask, what adverts?  I see no adverts or pop-ups during a game (I'm looking at a ball, a fairway or green, a flag, a swing meter, a vertical line... can't concentrate on any more things!), before the game or after the game.  If you are referring to the adverts about buying WGT equipment between holes, these are not pop-ups.  Well, they are in the sense that the window pops up and you have to click CONTINUE to continue (that' a very apt name for the button), but there is another reason for that pop-up... IT'S THE SCORECARD!  Because it's always pretty much the same adverts, I don't even notice them any more; I'm more interested in the scorecard, and then I click continue.

If there are other pop-ups that everyone is referring to, then presumably they can be blocked by a pop-up blocker (another apt name), sometimes built into browsers (like Firefox), or available as free downloads.

There are far more things wrong with WGT than these adverts, so please don't keep going on about such trivial things that don't really affect the game at all.

Im a NASA Astronaut, playing from the MIR space station, in my time up here (since Aug. 2002, and yes that's a record), I've mastered 8 languages (only 5 of them human languages), become an accomplished personal injury attorney, reworked Einstein's theory or relativity, Twice, (he's not as smart as you all think), completed a rubiks cube 12,864 times, blindfolded, Trained guard crocodiles and two-toed tree sloths (they were on earth while i trained them, naturally), started an outpost colony on one of Saturn's moons, oh, and solved that whole "chicken or the egg" business...After all these seemingly elementary accomplishments, i've come to one great and profound revelation...

NO ONE IS FORCING ANY OF YOU TO STAY AND PLAY HERE!!! IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT THE GAME IS, OR THE DIRECTION IT'S HEADING, YOU ARE FREE TO LEAVE!!!!!  THE AD'S SHOW UP BETWEEN HOLES, NOT BETWEEN SHOTS, I PERSONALLY HAVEN"T LOOKED AT A SINGLE ONE, LIKE THE REST OF YOU I CLICK THE "CONTINUE" BUTTON AS QUICK AS I CAN TO GET ON WITH MY GAME...IF YOU "BOYCOTTERS" HAD A CHOICE BETWEEN  PAYING MORE FOR EVERYTHING, OR HAVING ADS IN PLACES THAT REALLY DON'T AFFECT THE GAME PLAY, WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE.....YEAH I THOUGHT SO.

...This marks the 9,489th attempt some moron has attempted to boycott/petition WGT for a ridiculous reason...so far none of you genius' have succeeded....keep up the good work.

So that is where all of the smart people on earth went.....because we have no more down here.

Between the nagging advertisements, the lengthy load times betweeen strokes and the countless times of having to reload the entry to continue, I've had enough.  I'm not boycotting, just sick of hearing how the program needs the advertising dollars to continue. Continue what? Admit, it's not the cost to operate ( since you are charging for every thing under the sun, from clubs to balls to entry fees) it's your own greed you are feeding. I've enjoyed it will it was still in it's prime. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where your going.  It's all your Buzz Alrdren. Houston, you have a problem.

The scorecard is part of the game you're playing, the splitting screen and the adverts are not. And yes, there are more things wrong with WGT.

One is the SWING METER - You know, the most IMPORTANT TOOL in the game and can we get WGT to fix the damn thing? No we can't.

We get every excuse in the book, it's everyones fault except WGT, it's our computers, our ISP or any other reason they can manufacture. Well if that's the case every member must have a faulty ISP or computer according to the reports we get from other players in game play.

It's not my computer, it's fast, clean and trim, my ISP is reliable and fast and the swing meter is an unreliable tool which WGT can't come to grips with.

As for those members who keep saying it's a free game and put down members who make genuine observations, obviously don't spend money here. I'm stupid enough to have spent money on clubs for myself and a dear friend and continue to spend money on balls. There comes a time however when WGT's greed is over the top and this latest venture of adverts during game play is one of them.

Next thing we'll know, there'll be a singing Coke advert as we approach every damn green. Not to mention political adverts as we start the approach to the next American presidential election.

As i have just recently come back into satellite range...and have a few moments before i lose my up-link... I'll take a few moments to address some comments...

    RUSTY40:
WE NEED YOU BACK ON EARTH----FAST. Great post.

...Sorry Rusty, but as space is a vacuum, the incessant whinings of many individuals back on earth is mostly mute to my ears up here, and i must admit it is quite peaceful...

...Glad someone else can see my reason for evacuating Terra-Firma (the other reason being to help provide Yancy w/ an early warning system for any future sightings / attempted landings of foreign crafts...as he has things covered down there, i felt it was my duty to venture into the beyond to help keep WGT alien free...

...visitors all always welcome...plenty of freeze dried ice cream and tang...Glad to hear there is a second level of protection in place between myself and Yancy...keep up the good work...oh and by the way...is there perhaps a master list of "mouth breathers"? as i have a few to possibly add to it...

....let me get this straight...you don't mind the ads, rather you mind how they are presented to you??? As if you are actually looking at them...perhaps if WGT added sound to them? or maybe just kept them at the top of the screen for the whole round? maybe they could make them twinkle a bit, better yet, maybe they could put some classy billboards around the courses...would that be less amateurish and ummmmm stupid???

    sluny:
    they CRIPPLED ingame scorcards totaly!!!

...oh im sorry, i was unaware the in game scorecard meant so much to you...forgive me...i forgot thats why we're all here, to stare and marvel at its beauty and perfection...

    sluny:
it is is .... uhm ... stupid, I cannot find better words...

perhaps the reason you cannot find better words is because you do not possess the vocabulary to do so...I'm just saying...look at your picture...

SOME OF YOU SEEM TO BE UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT WGT WANTED TO PUT THE ADS WHERE THEY DID...LIKE SOME GUY AT THE STAFF MEETING STOOD UP AND SAID "I KNOW WHAT WILL MAKE THIS GAME BETTER...LETS PUT POP UP ADS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME"  COMMON SENSE WOULD SUGGEST THAT THE REASON THE ADS ARE WHERE THEY ARE, IS BASED ON NECESSITY,  NOT DESIRE...THEY EVEN GAVE US THE OPPORTUNITY TO LOOK AT THEM FOR AS LONG OR SHORT OF A TIME AS WE WANT.  TAKE A SECOND TO THINK...TO KEEP COSTS TO US DOWN, THEY HAD TO COMPROMISE AND PUT SOME ADVERTISING IN THE GAME ITSELF, BECAUSE THAT'S WHERE WE ALL GO ISN'T IT??? PUTTING THEM ON THE ACTUAL SITE DOESN'T SEEM TO GET THEM THE REVENUE THEY APPEAR TO NEED...AGAIN, COMMON SENSE SAYS THEY'VE PUT THEM IN THE BEST PLACE POSSIBLE.
