The dots are changing speed (Fast then slow down and then fast)

I have try it with any explorer i know but still the same...

My pc had I7 and 16GB memory and ati gc. so its not a power issue.

    hi

please try another browser. also, if your dots are racing, try waiting a bit, if they calm down, then it's something on your end thats messing with it.

Would you care to enlighten us? I have had this problem for months, many increments of browsers and flash versions, tried multiple browsers and the dots are still changing speed. I have a MSI GTX 970 4GB on an i7 4770 quad core with 8GB of RAM..

What on our end exactly is "messing" with the dots? Please advise. I know most players would like to know. Thanks.

How busy or hot your computer's CPU is when the dots are displayed on your computer are 2 ways.

Meter stutter is caused by the same issues.

If your CPU is busy running applications and processes in the background it goes back and forth from displaying the green dots to tasks it needs to perform in those other applications and processes.

Many WGT players monitor their CPU performance when they play. Those player generally also prepare for playing WGT by making sure their CPU has little else to do beyond those tasks the WGT game uses.

    No other tabs are open.

Virus and other computer maintenance tasks are scheduled to run at other times, or are disabled from running during game play.

    Flash Player caches are cleared.

Steps are taken to ensure the computer CPU isn't overheating.

I have nothing running with XP on my WGT pc and the dots still vary from front view to back view, and slow down when I move the arrow....

what I find is they are different speeds/directions 99% of the time not 50%...the front view is usually closer to being the right line most of the time, chip view is always reliable....on longer putts 0n champ greens whatever line I find with reverse view I add a cup and it is right on more times than not....hitting putts harder than normally do also helped on putts under 13ft...

just some cr@p I see, might not work for you but worth a try.

That's fine, I already understand all that, but it doesn't answer my question. The dots are changing speed every hole, every putt, all the time. Fast slow fast slow slower, faster fast slow.

I personally have a ton of CPU headroom on my machine, it never goes above 10% with wgt in game. I have a system optimised for video compositing with Davinci Resolve, and that gives me a system with a side benefit of being highly optimised for anything else as well.

I have an aftermarket CPU cooling system that works very well, running Prime95's heat test for 30 minutes and my CPU never gets above 65 degrees Celsius. I did that with the haswell stock HSF and I hit the Tj(max) of 100 degrees.

I disable malwarebytes when playing wgt just to be safe.

Also the most recent benchmark I ran on my GPU at 1920 by 1080 full screen tesslamark with MSAA 8X antialiasing and the GPU churned through at an average of 294 frames per second. I not trying to be argumentative, I just get tired of always hearing that problems with wgt are almost always the fault of the user's computer when in this case it just isn't so.

So my question still stands: What on our machines is messing with the dots?

    Good info thanks fatdan cheers.

I also will hit shorter putts a bit harder as well, to take some of the break out of the equation..

Well, the cause of this problem for sure must be on our, on the players side.

There are no bugs and glitches at WGT. If something is wrong while playing the game, the reason is the used browser, the flash player version, any cache, or the beefsteak a man had for dinner in Seattle at the 4th of October in  the year 1983.

Dots are worthless, every since the first change months ago. Wgt refuses to fix them back like they were when that were true. So if I can't remember how a putt breaks, I can forget about getting close. It's purely hit & hope mode, like throwing the dice. Already tried everything mentioned in these forums, so don't even go there. Wgt is not going to spend a penny on improving, all they are interested in are useless additions & changes that make the game run worse.

That damn man from Seattle, lol! Well at least now we know :)

Now if only he had the foresight to have the chicken parmigiana, we'd all be a lot happier..
