Alternate shot format

  I must admit that I've been enjoying the alternate shot format. I find the games to be very social.

  The biggest problem I find is that the load time is horrendously slow. It has also frozen quite a few times when I hit the 100% load.

  It is hard enough getting 1 opponent to wait if the loading is slow. Trying to get 3 opponents to hang around is nearly impossible.

  You end up having to find another 3 opponents. If it carries on like this I can see a lot of players just ignoring this format no matter how much fun it is when you actually get to play.

  For some reason, my screen freezes when I use my spacebar to switch views. Sometimes it even causes a freeze while using it in the chat window.

  What could the spacebar possibly have to do with loading issues?

  Using the arrow icon doesn't cause any of the aforementioned problems.

  It's been nearly three months... and despite changing browsers, disabling all Divx references, keeping my computer, video card, and Java updated, cleaning everything with Ccleaner (including the registry), rebooting my 'puter and internet connection mega-times, using a new keyboard, and clearing ALL my caches, temporary files and cookies...

  ... I'm STILL getting game freezes BOTH from using my spacebar to switch views, and from typing into the chat box during BOTH multi-player stroke-play and alternate shot rounds. I thought it was just hap'nin during the alt shot format, as that's what I've been playing almost exclusively, but it's begun to plague my stroke-play mp, as well.

  Ugh.

  Again... this is the error pop-up I get:

   

  ANY suggestions of what MAY be going on with my system would be graciously welcomed (or is WGT not "playing nice" with something on my 'puter?).

  alt shot is a waste of time u either cant complete the game or players leave on last hole im sure if wgt made the alt shot the same as mpc with the option for playen for credits  this would stop most ppl disconnectn and also make it more intresting.

  I had the same trouble then got 2 mg ram now i'm on all the time

  PugsAce - Don't know if it will help you, but I re-installed my Flash player in response to similar errors, and it seems to have helped.  Also - make sure you are operating the most recent version.

  p.s. I have managed to complete several Alternate Player games, but have also experienced some where players just go!  I wonder if WGT could post a warning to players who hit the exit button during either an Alternate or a Match, advising them that they can negotiate an exit? I get the impression many players (especially new ones) don't know this!
