DAZZA501: because i know i have no chance of placing well. 8 birdies & an eagle for 9 holes has become the norm these days
Yes these are the scores required now, and even then there is no certainty of winning.
Funny when I started out I was shite (still am 90% of the time), but enjoyed the game, finally upgraded from starters when I hit master and sure enough, my scores improved. Was it more fun....debateable as it is all relative - as I only played for enjoyment, not for credits it did not bother me one way or the other.
So finally I was capable of shooting low scores occasionally after learning the game, the shots the greens etc but I never had the consistency nor the skill to do it often (primarily as I could never hit or be close to the ding line enough).
Some players could.....and did, shooting wonderful scores most of the time, some only some of the time, with a few virtually all of the time.
I put this down to dedication (which I have never had) to learn every aspect of the game. For many players, this is exactly what they have done, and when they get a bad result, they have the skills to recover, especially with the putter. To these players I raise my hat.
But then one day I saw a video posted of a player who cheated - I foolishly thought CE's were a myth. From that day I lost a lot of faith in the game and in some players, and was pleased I do not place credits on the line. As I said I play for fun only, crap score or good, I will enjoy.
So if players use a CE or a Focus Boost (and I still have doubts about the effectiveness used randomly) well it is not hurting me. I would rather hold my head up than stoop to cheating others.
Darren, I respect you but perhaps you just need to focus on why you used to enjoy the game - having fun, playing alt with mates etc.
The Focus Boost is just the latest in a long line of releases that will make scoring better - slow meter balls (and yes I do use them time to time when my reflexes are shite), balls that will stop on a dime form 500 yards, drivers with attributes that virtually guarantee you will not miss a fairway, even golden putters with attributes that should never miss (if you believe that one you probably also believe every word from a politician)need I go on?
The company is about money, not about realism, not about customer service or even product reliability, it is solely focused on making more money.
