    We need to eliminate an average to represent the ability on an individual golfer here on WGT.   The benefits of replacing an average with a handicap index can be shown as follows;

    1)   It would eliminate disconnects from the players since only 10 scores of the last 20 rounds are used to evaluate ones index.  Alot of the players here are totally obsessed with, and maintaining their average.  However, your not always going to shoot your average.

    2)  The average of a player could be displayed depending on which course they are playing.

    3) However the handicap index is just as effective tool.  Perhaps thats why the USGA developed the system.

    4) The only way you are going to achieve better scores is by making recovery shots in a bad round.  Your not always going to hit the ball down the middle of the fairway.  Thus, knowing this, you achieve greater shot flexibility in your repertoire.

    Hope my two cents worth helps.  In my opinion we need to address the disconnects, and this would definitely help with that issue.
