Sorry for the delay, had to wait to get confirmation on which L40 Nikes to send. A sleeve of the red ones has been sent.

    Corwyn:
Just 4 players left to hear from.

(Again, deadline for prize claims is midnight WGT time, Thursday, 2 July.)

Here's the wrap-up of special prizes:

    SPECIAL PRIZES:

Thank you again to our community sponsors: such generosity, and so many prizes this month!

Winners are noted below and their results are shown in the Stats Spreadsheet for the tourney:

Here is a pic of the final standings for these prizes: right-click on the image to enlarge, and keep clicking until you get largest view

Note I've added a highlight in yellow on the box where that player won that category, and highlights in blue if they were next in the standings.

    -----------------------------

    Notable achievements from Stats sheet:

Highest overall percentage of Greens in Regulation:... ColumbusStorm took the honors here with 50%, a very impressive total given Pinehurst's turtleback greens. fmagnets came in 2nd with 44.5%.

Closest Average Distance to the Pinmkrizan86 was our winner here, with a wonderful total of 8.3ft, and just edged out Lypra with 9.2ft and KoVaCH 10.4ft.

Number of saves: (total number of 1-putt par saves through 36 holes, as shown on all cards): ... alcaucin really impressed in this category with a total of 17 saves (which may be a record). mkrizan86 came in 2nd with 15.

Most Number of Birdies: Birdies were hard to come by @ Pinehurst, with 5 being our top number, shared by Corwyn, xprt, HIOsoon, and Vaibhav5viv.

Least Number of Bogies: fmagnets had the least bogies with just 8, closely followed by JoeMaverick with 9, proving once again that that's the most likely route to the lowest scores.

Greatest overall total distance made putts: Our winner xprt came close to our record-high total here with an outstanding aggregate of 268.13ft. HIOsoon (with 223.83) and Vaibhav5viv (with 213.14) also topped 200.

Longest putt made: was by HIOsoon with a staggering 62.9ft effort in R1, while xprt managed a 50.5ft putt in R2.

    Least # of Putts: was by mmyers0 with 51 (22/29). Next was mkrizan86 with 52 (26/26).

No 3-Putts: 5 players managed to avoid a 3-putt this time: JoeMaverick, fmagents, Corwyn, xprt, and mkrizan86.

And, finally, congrats to Lypra, who picks up Ian's great 'Sticking With It' award for the highest scoring finisher that goes the duration and also shares all cards and stats. Lypra "edged" it by 1 shot from AdamK70!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you to all our prize sponsors for getting prizes sent so promptly to all those who claimed them. And thank you to our winners, both for their success in winning the prize, and being willing to meet the posted conditions for claiming your sleeves. As will be obvious from the following, I cannot summarize the full list of winners here...

Two players have not posted here in the thread in order to claim their prizes, despite every effort to contact all those eligible for a prize. I will privately ensure that the next two players in line will receive those sleeve prizes instead.

Further, it is my sad duty to report that at least one player highly placed on the leaderboard was found to be playing with illegal clubs: players were being monitored during the event and below is a screenshot of the bag of one of those players during their TIO round. Their score was posted shortly after this screenshot was taken. Obviously, there is no way to prove deliberate intent, and perhaps on those grounds, WGT may be limited in the action it can take. Be assured though that the evidence we have has been forwarded to WGT. In terms of my own duty as organizer, and my responsibility to the rest of the field, I will PM any players involved in cheating of any kind, and make it clear that they are not welcome in any future events that I organize.

To comply with WGT rules and regulations, I have had to redact out identifying information from the screenshot:

It is my hope that we can keep the tournaments available through the main tournament list, as this vastly increases the participation, and introduces many more players to this different format (which meets the desire from so many to see level playing field events). Clearly, being in the main tourney list opens up these events to players who may not have the same level of integrity as those active in the community forums. And, until WGT fixes the flaws in the restricted-club programming, it is perfectly possible that our leaderboards will be corrupted in the future by cheaters. However, I intend to limit future prizes to those who post screenshots and scorecards in the forum thread.

Given my impending family trip to Scotland in July, there will be no Tough-It-Out event this month, and we will return in August. Please watch the forums for more information early in August.

    Thank you.

    I agree with Matildagaly.

Maybe just set up the tournament to be played. The tournament would be off the "record books", meaning no stats, no formal prizes, no record keeping for Corwyn.

Some of the fun would be gone not competing for prizes, but I still enjoy the format and competing just for the fun of it.

^^ My main reason for being a non believer...why not have an extra wedge ?? / set irons ?? own putter even better !?  lol

Also, how to trust when screenshot taken  (and who took it )

Lost count of the number of times I for one have tried to equip and unequip starters and being left with some 'real' clubs and had to go back 2 o 3 times to change fully.

Each time ya go to change balls now 'it' says no irons are equippped.

Self policing has never gone well on these Forums !!  :-(

Because that is not how the glitch works. We have properly tested the required clubs programming (because WGT didn't), and so know what is possible and what isn't.

If players are required to provide their own screenshots or videos next time round to be eligible for any prize, there will be no need for trusting who took what screenshot and when or any self-policing.

I don't ultimately believe that any prizes awarded this time round will be undeserved, so congratulations to all the winners, and all the genuine finishers for sticking with it.

Big thanks as always to Corwyn for another fun event. And my own personal congratulations to Joe M for a superb and genuine 2nd round score.

I like to think this tournament is good for WGT. It allows all players that currently are only playing with starter equipment to compete directly against everyone including some of the best in the top tiers.

This tournament puts in perspective on how well they can play with starters as opposed to seeing those "impossible" scores in the TL leaderboards and thinking they could never shoot scores like that.

    Definitely agree with fmagnets^^^^

Thank you Corwyn for organizing these wonderful events. Keep up the great work and hopefully WGT will continue to support your efforts.

The redacted account with the non-conforming clubs was under observation because of a forum post in another one of Corwyn's tournaments.

That account is a suspected multiple, operated by a participant in this tournament and in this thread.  That person wrote a post is his/her own voice, on a subject that he/she often posts about, and did one other thing (a sure giveaway) that I won't specify because it narrows the field of suspects too much - but while mistakenly logged into the second account.  It was only visible for a few minutes until his/her mistake was realized, then deleted.

There isn't anything that can be done about this because of insufficient evidence.  I am not making this known in order to start a witch hunt, so to others who are aware of the details as well as those who might have independent suspicions:  please do not comment further or even hint at the identity of the suspected multi-accounter.  It will only be ugly and fruitless.

I am posting this only to make that person aware that some of us know the truth, and that all of his/her subsequent actions are seen with complete clarity by us in the full light of that truth.  What has been done cannot be undone, and what is known cannot be unknown.  The only thing that you have control of is how you behave going forward.

It is beyond unfortunate that Corwyn has probably had to spend more time on the nasty business of dealing with cheaters in this tournament than he would have spent on running the tournament alone.  I hate to think that the day could come when Corwyn decides that the hassle of pursuing cheaters outweighs his enjoyment of managing the tournaments.

I heartily second Mags' appreciation of Corwyn's efforts and of Joe's great play, and I hope that WGT will endeavor to fix the required clubs glitch.
