  would like to see an option of pausing a game in mutliplayer so that you dont get timed out because someone is at your door or on the phone or something

  how would that work for other players who would have to wait, then people would disconnect and what happens if someone takes forever or  forgets about the game. Sorry, not a great idea. IMO.

  It'd work fine among friends, we often ask for a "take your time while I get a cup of coffee" or what not after our shot.  Just add a max of say 60 or 90 secs before resuming.  Actually both players could go get a cup or whatever.

  Among 'strangers' it could depend on how well the chat's going and clearing the pause first.  Maybe request time out and an ok by the other player(s) would do it.

  Could help with the "sorry, got to go, someone's at the door/ gotta take this call" quitting.
