About 16 months ago WGT said they would be implementing a CC Bank. 10 months ago CC's got a CC Bank Tab that pulls up a Black Screen with the words "Coming Soon"
Lately we have heard updates on the CC Bank implementation using phrases such as: "If / when a CC Bank is implemented..." from the moderators.
I am throwing this proposal out to the greater WGT community so that WGT can get some feedback from the community.
What I am going to propose is a way that WGT could implement an all be it imperfect CC Bank, but one that uses mostly existing game structure (thus much is already programed). The reason I say imperfect was because we were told that a donation to a CC Bank would be free and the proposal would lack any bells and whistles.
Here is my concept:
First, make the CC Bank a Benefit for CCs. CC XL 12 would appear
about right in my opinion because the top 50 CCs will all be at that level roughly a
year after the CC XP / XL system’s implementation. Any higher would take
too long for even the top CCs, any lower and it could be subject to
abuse.
When a CC is at Level 12 or higher the CC owner can contact
Customer Service and request a CC Bank. A CC Bank will then be created
by WGT. The way that, in my opinion, makes this so simple is:
1) The CC Bank is created just like it is a normal WGT user.
2)
The CC Bank’s user name would start with WGTxCCBank - - - - (where “- -
- -“ represents the WGT ID for the CC). The reason for the naming
convention is because a user name that starts with WGT is a reserved
user name that only WGT can create (I believe).
3) WGT creates a password and sends it to the CC owner
4) WGT simultaneously sends a request on behalf of the “Bank” to the CC owner to join the CC
5) 100 WGT credits (or a little more) are deposited into the CC Bank Account (reason for this will become obvious below)
6)
When the Bank is accepted into the “membership rolls” of the CC; the
“COMING SOON” in the CC Bank Tab is replaced by a “Contribute to the CC
Bank” button. (This page could be fancier over time with lists of
member’s contributions, current number of credits in the Bank, etc.)
The thing that should make this concept attractive to WGT (and
again probably fairly easy to implement) is the mechanism of what
happens when a CC member clicks on the “Contribute to the CC Bank”
button.
As you are aware WGT has a Blitz Challenge where:
• A Blitz Challenge game of 25-249 credits per player = WGT fee of 5 credits per player,
• A Blitz Challenge game of 250-999 credits per player = WGT fee of 10 credits per player,
• A Blitz Challenge game of 1000-2000 credits per player = WGT fee of 50 credits per player, and
• A Blitz Challenge game of 2001-4000 credits per player = WGT fee of 100 credits per player.
By clicking the “Contribute to the CC Bank” button a CC member
would simply be “consenting” to forfeit a Blitz Challenge match of the
number of credits they wanted to donate. The member would simply type in
the number of credits (minimum of 25 and maximum of 4,000) and just
like in accepting a blitz challenge match would get a confirm button.
WGT would take the fee just like in a blitz challenge from both the CC
Bank and the CC member contributing. This is the reason for the need for
the initial “seed credits” in the Bank.
WGT in collecting a processing fee for the transaction is making
some revenue in return for the effort of setting up the CC Bank. At the
same time much, if not most, of the programing is already in place. I
track CC XPs for the top 60 CCs in CC XPs carefully and based on my
quick review of the numbers if this were to be implemented right now (OK
I know impossible) the maximum number of requests would be 26 at the
start and 14 more over the next 10 weeks. So processing the requests
would average about 3 CCs every 2 weeks. I would imagine that not to be
too heavy a workload.
At the same time, the fee based on a percentage is not all that
steep for CC members who desire to contribute. A CC at CC XL 12 is
allowed 250 members so the only negative to the CC is that the CC can
have only 249 “real” members. Well unless the owner abandons the CC
and/or WGT and credits remain in the bank account.
The beauty and simplicity of this system is that to give a prize
or reward or whatever - all the CC Owner has to do is log out of WGT and
log in as the CC Bank and go to the Pro Shop to spend the credits by
gifting the prize, reward or whatever to the CC member who is to get it.
