I liked this site because I thought it was somewhat realistic.  Haven't been able to play for a while.  Anyway, I get back on and see the new US Open tourney.  The low score at this point is a 51.  How realistic is that?  I know it takes practice...but can a person buy their way to a 51?  that's kind of crazy to allow a score that low...isn't it?

You must buy your way - best equipment is a must!

It takes a long time of playing to arrive at the neccessary levels, with inferior equipment to buy and a lot of balls being used up. Then you buy that top notch equipment which has become incredibly expensive compared to former times. Of course you need the best balls to contend, using them up in endless trials. And, you may seek help in the new "Focus boost", slowing down the meter for 30 cr a pop.

When the first 49 was accomplished a few years ago, it took the player 33 hours of gameplay. Go figure about the costs!

And, apparently, there are not-so-legal means to better the game, but any talk about these is barred by the Guidelines.

About crazy scores, it's but a computer game, much easier to handle with small handmovements + mouseclicks than four days on the real courses, and with certain limitation in making it difficult.

Some of the top players scoring in 50s are great at the game with generally top equipment and no cheats. Equipment does help but also learning where to hit that ball and carying it out with or without ding takes practice

Some dont need to worry about the ding bit!!!!

P.S Look at hack leaderboards in WGT comps and that may tell you something about multi accounts also ;-)

I agree with what you wrote but WGT calls it the most realistic golf game and in that perspective I understand the remarks abouth scores in the whisky tournement 9 holes bacl st.andrew in Legend the score is 26 8 birds and an eagle needed. and the rest of the leaderbord is likewise so not really realistic i think

When it was first released WGT was the most realistic golf game around.  Barring the scores I think it still is to be honest.

The trouble is they have to keep coming out with new gear to keep people interested.  And that gear has to be better.  And better.  And better.

The scores in these major tournaments used to be more realistic but the gear we have now has put an end to the days of realistic scores.
