If you going to have green speeds not conforming to the the speed indicated in a tournament then it should be called by a different name.  I played one RG which indicated a green speed as Tournament.  However,  the green speed was definitely Very Fast. The RG in question was Kiawah full 18.

Another example, Bethpage Front 9 RG.  There are two tournament speeds.  One I would designate as normal the other slower.  The later should be called Tournament-Slow.

The reason I bring this up is the as follows: The amount of break is influence on the speed of the putt.  Sometimes one may hit the ball firm sometimes not.  Depending on how hard you hit your putt will determine the amount of break in the putt.  Don't get me wrong, I like the challenge of the variety of green speeds offered.   However, I must stress this is a computer simulation, and one must rely on the information provided.

In real golf, you can walk up to a green look at it, and determine the nature of the speed of the putt.  Here, you do not have the 3-dimensional impact.  For example, you walk on the green and can determine if it is hard or soft.   You can see how short the grass is on the green etc.  This comes from experience and knowing what to look for.  Here you need to rely on the information given.
