3 rounds in a row I allowed for wind on the 17th hole of St Andrews only to hit the shot and see the ball go straight. The last time I played it I had a 20mph wind from the left and decided not to allow for the wind to see what would happen. The ball went arrow straight. Never budged an inch off line.

Just thought this might be something you could look into.

    Happy New Year

Its a hard enough hole as it is, especially when the pin is tucked away behind the bunker without making it any tougher. It can also cost you balls as the out of bounds is so close. Or maybe thats the plan.

Believe me the wind on 17 exists... just now I shot January single play and the strength of a 25mph crosswind caught me by surprise. Almost put me in the bunker lol and yes I did aim waay right.

Maybe it was limited to the 18 hole unlimited play for December. Even though I didn't notice it before yesterday.

This is now the fourth time it has happened to me. This obviously counts as a bug. A 25mph wind from the left so I aim the appropriate amount left of the fairway. The ball lands right in the middle of the fescue where I had set my aim. This is during the weekly 18 hole singleplay strokeplay.

    Frustrated.

This might be a little far-fetched but do you think those buildings are affecting the way the wind moves the ball? BPB#8 appears to do the same thing with the trees surrounding the lower green. The wind never seems to do what you think it should.

FWIW, I don't move the aimer off the tee in high winds. I miss the ding on purpose into the wind. Not the best way to do it but the ball flies straight.  :-)

I'm not sure if that is the case, but the wind was coming from the left so the buildings wouldn't come into it. Plus it doesn't happen every time. Up to now I have only experienced this phenomenon on my 2nd shot/ approach to the green.

Knowing my luck, that would be the time I would hit the ding.

O.K. Now I'm starting to get annoyed. Its been a week since I first posted this and there has been no response from WGT. This is unacceptable. WGT PLEASE RESPOND.

It has happened again just now on the same hole at the same course. A 20mph wind from the left ends up not existing and leaving my tee shot in the fescue on the left side. Then, to add insult to injury, there is no wind for my second shot either and I end up in the bunker. This has gone beyond a joke. For it to happen once, I would laugh it off as a hiccup, but this has happened on numerous occasions AND IS OBVIOUSLY A BUG.

WGT, could you at least acknowledge this and say whether you are aware of this and intend to do anything about it or is this another instance where you will just ignore us.

Newsflash, jobeak-WGTIcon is as close as you're going to get regarding a response from WGT and that will be based on his own experiences here. Fortunately they happen to be long and deep and he has been known to share a tidbit or three.

LOL-I would imagine it's easier for WGT to offer up a hardcase like Icon to the wolves rather than jump in themselves.   :-D
