Created tournaments for anyone?

  I believe this question has been asked before somewhere else.

  Myself and several other people have been/ are hosting events where we miss to have the chance to create a tournament specific for that event where everyone can enter.

  As it is only possible to create CC tournaments other people outside the CC cannot enter.

  At the moment we have always to relay in the Weekly tournaments to somehow match our needs. Many of the events involve prizes/awards with products from WGT shop.

  I think that it would be GREAT to create tournaments where anyone in WGT can/may participate.

  Based as CC tournaments it would be possible the following

   

  • Number of rounds
  • Tournament type
  • Tier eligibility
  • Course selection
  • Select holes
  • Play limits
  • Round duration
  • Conditions 
  • Green speed
  • Wind speed
  • Lies
  • Hole location
  • Swing selection
  • NO FEE

   

  No need to be ranked but practice

  I could use many examples of our sponsored events but I do not think is necessary. THIS IS ONLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE WGT COMMUNITY.

  Tournaments of that kind have been created by WGT for CCs before. Just ask them.

  (edit: It means public tournament for ev1)

  You do NOT need to ask WGT to create CC tournaments.

  "of that kind" meant public tournaments - there was a series early this year as promotion for CCs, e.g. "Bridgestone Looking for Members Sponsored Tourney" around Feb 1st.

  It was long ago, 5+ years or so, that Nivlac created a wildly successful tournament called (I think) The North American Challenge. Everybody, world wide, who was anybody, played as regional teams, each team with, say 12 players, and other items to it I can't recall --but I am sure there are many, still here, who do, and if they should read this and provide more info, you may be able to move forward with even a greater success  ~ SP ~

  I mean, it should be a general choice for WGT members to create those tournaments where stats do not count and makes the tournament not important (statistically talking) but the result for the people participating in the tournament.

  Lets say, it was no "The Open" organized by WGT (pity must say although that is another issue) but it would have been GREAT to privately organize a tournament using St. Andrews WGT course while The Open is running and again awarding prizes ONLY from WGT shop.

  There are so many FUN possibilities to organize not official tournaments for the community joy.  

  Some examples of organized tournaments running at the moment ; UEL Ryder Cup, Free International Credits, Tough It Out, PGA Championship, etc

  I am positive all this people hosting/organizing those tournaments would like to create tournaments for their competitions.

  Cool idea, although I don't really recall this tournament. I suppose it was based on the Weekly WGT tournaments.

  The main thing is NOT referring to an outside tournament but referring to a CREATED tournament where the leaderboard shows only the people participating in the tournament and not necessarily being members of an specific CC.

  Double CC membership?... that could be an option; to be member of a CC but be able to "temporary" join another CC created ONLY to host the tournament.....although it sounds more complicated in paper.

  Well Eric, that is correct. It was framed around the weekly 18 hole single play, and the admin. was up-dated weekly by Niv (he was still private then, not yet WGTniv), and the event lasted several months. Players I remember that are still here were TallAcePaul, Knucklewoods, Cobrag, lvietri, Salami; plus retired guns AvatarLee, Tibbets, ncviz etc.

  The intent participation and success of it is mentioned here only because you have an idea that seems ideal in consideration of what I assume WGT has-- a desire for: improved participation in, and an elevated opinion of the entire CC franchise. I believe what you propose is a perfect fit -- for both WGT and WGT players.  ~ Lily ~

  +1 Eric - but sadly think will be very low on WGT consideration list...
