    AUGIE316:

So am I the only one who has to to restart my god damn game like three times every time I play the game. And I should not have this f___in problem with a level 71 slow meter Nike balls, and it is not my side of the internet that is the problem. Because I can score -7,its not the meter. It is w.g.t flash freezing up in the middle of my shot routine. I have to restart three times at least every game I play.

ut it seems to pertain to programs, as I know it, only one file is used in Flash from WGT, I'd think his issue might have more to do with Flash, than WGT?

Let's see if I can explain this in terms Baggs will understand.....

A bowl of spaghetti is one bowl.  There are dozens if not hundreds of individual spaghetti noodles in that bowl.

If you're thinking that one file is gameclient.aspx, then that is the bowl.  It's function is to initialize the game on our PC and get the files needed to display the game client.  To give us an idea of how many files are loaded I ran a test.

Using Firefox I started by closing the browser completely then opening it and immediately cleared all caches. All I have open is an internal FF page displaying the number of cache entries.

After clearing the number of cache entries is 0.

I load the game client and after loading there are 94 cache entries

I log in and the # of entries goes up to 125

I go to the 1st tee of the weekly 9-hole unlimited on the Best of Hardest and now there's 223 entries after getting all the files for BP hole 15 and whatnot.

By the time I get done playing the 1st hole I have 416 entries in my browser cache and the FF Flash Plugin is using 355Mb of my Ram.

Of the 416 entries, only about 20 to 25 are executable files run in the game client, the rest are images, and other stuff from the server.

You want meat balls with dat?

Would you explain what a "memory leak" is and how to see/find it?

Pick a link and read all about it.

    Good reading.

But it seems to pertain to programs, as I know it, only one file is used in Flash from WGT, I'd think his issue might have more to do with Flash, than WGT?

you'd think? maybe if you have more knowledge on it then reading one article...

previous post explained it very clearly.

and yes i can confirm the meter does get worse as the RAM usage grows. so i restart the game browser about every 9 holes to get it back to a reasonable number and less meter freezing.

      Of course I do;)

Now, ya made me effing hungry.

BTW, I have one of those little CPU/Ram monitoring things running up top right of my screen (from the free IOBOT SW)

FWIW, I am on a 2009 Laptop, Win 7, 2 gigs of ram.

When I open and play WGT on Maxthon, my CPU stays in the low 10% usage range, RAM is about 35-40% usage.

Now only other thing I do is run GB Boost (not "game booster) and then use the IOBOT Booster and it shuts down another 8 ro 9 programs/or processes, I don't know which...but have 60-65 things going on still.

Rarely get a stutter, and since changing from Windows Aero? to Basic, rarely get a "zoomer" meter.

My latest thing I did, to eliminate all the BS game play, was to do a deep uninstall of Chrome...even after Chrome was uninstalled, it still showed 4 or 5 Chrome apps running and eating up my RAM and CPU...How the Eff could that be?...well, a bit of internet searching and a few hours later, I got rid of every trace of Chrome I had...now, low RAM and low CPU usage.

Still can't hit the effing ding often enough, but nary a stutter/skip/zoomer...

Now, off to boil a pot, slice a loaf for some garlic bread, grate some cheese...and enjoy my Friday night!

PS, thanks for the explanation Andy.

This is ridiculous! End up getting DQ'd because I have to reset during games 3x, This is stupid. Fix your crap WGT! Time to go back to X-box Live or something- this isn't working out.

WGT??? WTF??? WTF??? WTF??? I'm serious about stopping playing. This is no fun anymore. When ppl who have been playing for a long time and who spend a ton of money on here and have to disconnect from a game every time so much we have to get disqualified this is unfair and total bs. You are ruining this fun for us by your lack of wanting to listen to us. Please fix this so we can enjoy our game once again. This is supposed to be relaxing and fun for us and now it's just depressing and annoying for those of us who like to use this as an escape from our regular life. Please hear our voices. We matter and our money matters so I hope you fix these issues.
