agreed...but to my point, a player knows what the proper tees are. A legend knows he/she is supposed to play from the back tips...that's why I said it is up to the individual player. If a high ranking player decides to play from the red tees, I'm not sure you can blame the owner...especially of a CC with a large membership. That said, I don't know what kind of visibility is readily available about what a given player is up to.

It doesn't take much sleuthing if you want to find out. Andyson laid out a perfect example in his last post.

Roger that...well, in previous posts, I've always maintained that quality should trump quantity...but given that our CC accepts all veterans and serving members, we rely heavily on personal integrity vice a thorough vetting or any "sleuthing" of same.  At the end of the day, the Band of Brothers' primary goal is provide a comfortable environment for our members,  regardless of their tier or how they achieved it.  That simply won't change, nor should it.

Interesting - is it a rule? I don't find it in the T&Cs nor FAQs ;)

Players are supposed not to use illegal aids, and everything within the program is legal, red tees, putting "focus"...

The company decided to make the game easier, and Pebble is another step to this. A friend said it must become easier for mobile access, and this complies with my thoughts of the post-Flash game.

Alas, any CC as a group with it's owner in front may work out their own environment. As of the latest changes, red tee tourneys are only possible in consent with the owner, and he won't act against his members' majority. Thus, these communities are responsible for red tee tournaments, while each player may decide to join in or not, or leave the CC.

My two Pfennig on this subject:

Any tourneys with fixed tees disadvantage the lower level players and are kind of unfair. Therefore, I'd only accept them as variations, not as regularities.

oi vey...it may not be written down, per se, but it certainly is the accepted "common sense" understanding...or else there have been a lot of posts wasted on who plays from red tees and faux champions...lol

Certainly there IS a lot of posts wasted - see my 12k ;)

What I wanted to say is that your point ain't a legal demand but is coming from a moral instance which should speak for itself. To be precise, YOU should speak for yourself without generalizing.

I'm o.k. with the opinion that red tees aren't sportsmanlike, but this applies to the game site as a whole, and we are still playing the game.

Apart from that, I shudder when I hear about "common sense" and "supposals", and all those players using red tees certainly disagree with you - they cannot be excluded from community opinion. Talk about the lady on top of the average leaderboard...

You are certainly correct that I, like so many others, sometimes fall into the "generalizing" trap...alas, I will continue to do so for a moment...lol...I think Golf, (real or a game like this), relies on integrity and sportsmanship more so than other sports...ie., I'm certain that players don't "legally" have to squeal on themselves when they break a rule, even if it's a minor infraction done accidentally, but they are expected to do so, and they comply. The same goes with CCing putts. . no hard rules governing those either.

Honesty, Fairness, Sportsmanship, Decorum...these are not laws, or even clearly defined rules, so they are therefore open to all sorts of personal interpretation.

We have a law in Ontario that allows women to go topless...the vast majority do not.

ps. I do not know the lady at the top of the average leader board...I have never even met her, so I will obviously hold my opinion on specific individuals in those instances.
