Just about everybody who plays this game have different goals. Some play to just have a good time. Others are here for the friendships and alt shot. Still others focus on their averages and score. Then others are here for the competition, so they play match play, rg's and bracket tourneys. Only a few can be the best and then there are the rest. Just because everyone does not get what you get out of the game does not make it wrong. Enjoy the game in your own way. Happy Hitting. JMHO.

Me i play  matchplay, alternate, rank round, ready go and bracket with mixed result. Sometime that work and i do fine, other score bad because of some weakness in my game.

I don't play from red tee and i still think red tee counting for average is a very bad idea but it's here and it's fun for some players and i respect that.

After all, it's just the fault of wgt if that count on average and with that the rank and average means nothing now, not the fault of red tee players.

Oh Oh...if you leave, he may turn his sights on the CC I belong to...

Not to worry ct.  You're good.  Unless you advertise your CC as a very low red tee CC with only a handful.  I'll check for it. :-)  I detest false advertising as I'm sure most do.

Many years ago we were in the market for a new car for the wife.  On Sunday morning there's huge ads in the paper for new cars.  8AM I see an ad saying this dealer has 112 new Ford Explorers in stock.  The wife's choice!  We go, and drive the 10 miles to the dealer.

We're walking around the dealer's front lot looking for an Explorer.  None to be found.  A salesman comes out, "May I help you folks?"  "Yep, looking for an Explorer, your ad today says you have over a hundred!"  And I show him the ad.  "Sure" he says "I'll go find out where they're hiding, be right back.".  He comes back..."Manager says they're all in the back lot. Follow me"

The three of us traipse all over the acres and acres of back lot.  "Interested in an Escort wagon?"  "Nope, Explorer."  "We got 'em, just gotta find 'em"  "Minivans are good for a family"  "Nope, an Explorer"  "Don't worry, we'll find 'em."  After 30 minutes of this run around and none found I say, "I'm done here, let's go see the manager".

Showed the ad to the manager and he says.  "We sold 'em all. More coming in on the truck tomorrow."  I say, "Right, its 10am and you sold 'em all this morning!  Tell Tex (the owner) that's Bullshite!!"  And we walked out.

Bought an Explorer at a reputable Ford dealer and filed a complaint with the BBB.  As a result I talked to several people from the dealer.  Never an admission of being wrong, "We had 'em, the salesman took you to the wrong lot"  different person said "Oh, the ad agency ran next week's ad."  etc.  one contradiction after the other.   An unsatisfied BBB false advertising complaint.  That ain't no bull!

This is the most obnoxious car dealer you'd ever want to meet.  Ads on TV all the time braggin' on his company. "We treat everyone like you'd treat your momma"  "Our people are the best, we love 'em all"  blah blah blah.

Nope...we advertise that we are a CC designed for mil veterans, serving members, first responders and their families and supporters...we are a place where they can be amongst folks with similar experiences and similar baggage...no false advertising there...

The actual golf tournaments are a mixture, I guess...the only ones I personally sign up for are Alternate, or sometimes Match if the director is in a pinch for a player...no one seems to bent on anything but enjoying the game for what it is, and the camaraderie...and that suits our CC just fine...:)

Thank you for my "Forum Rat" trophy although with 6,451 posts in just 3 and a quarter years you are much more deserving than me with 5,864 in over 6 years here.  Here's one that is well deserved for you though...

If you want an example of one of your members abusing the red tees check Scoobydo's scores on 10/20/15.  Almost 30 red tee rounds in a row, started as a TL finished a Ch.  And then a couple of weeks later, he left you.

Since I don't play stroke, I'm a little confused. Can't a player, in any CC,  play from red tees to artificially lower their average? There has been a lot of chatter about red tee TLs and Champs...almost to the point of flaunting it...and these players belong to a myriad of CCs...I don't quite understand why this one CC is being singled out?

It inevitably boils down to an individual player's integrity, doesn't it?

    I see two limitations:

1, technically, a CC must a) have a certain level for tee variations, and the members must b) be allowed to do so by "member class",

2, socially, it must be accepted in the CC to create such tourneys.
