I always thought posts were "moderated" based on the subject matter rather than an arbitrary number..

Both; mine are probably under moderation for the reasons you stated.  Although I'm guessing as I thought I was insulted and quoted someone accurately. Your first posts are moderated until wgt deem you fit to post, no set time but, although you're obviously new to the forum, it seems you should know to post on a mod's wall if you want it done moderately(!) quickly. .

There is no set time for the former I'd have thought they'd give some indication but it seems not.

Although it's often a pain that your posts appear out of context, the good thing is you at least know someone at wgt is reading them :))

out of context?...I always try to respond by selecting a quote from a given post and commenting on it...if I agree or disagree, etc. Thanks for reading mine, though...I read yours also...I read all the different opinions and comments in the threads.

There is another more serious problem that the message is pending moderation.

When the message is approved, rather than putting it in the last position, put in the position where the message was written at that time, the consequence is that many messages have been written after leaving the mine in a position that would not be adequate and the likelihood that my message read are practically nil.

Pending messages of moderation may seem good to me, but once approved should be placed in the last position, otherwise it can be understood as some kind of censorship.

The moderated post is put in the spot where it was replied to and not the last spot because often times a player doesn't quote what they're directly replying to. Putting this message at the end will most often make the moderated comment out of place.

I'm fine if I seem moderation was fast, but sometimes it took up to a day in moderating the message, in this case I think it is hurting the user.

You should understand that people who do not speak English can not be in all forum topics, thus can not have messages regularly and will always be awaiting moderation, thereby impairing people from non-English speaking.

Putting in the middle will often make it disappear...

Anyway, I suppose it's a feature of this Forum software, so no changes will happen.

Talking about this moderation, I'd like to see no more moderated posts which seriously break the guidelines - isn't that what moderation is for?

And, the dreamer in me would like to have such posts immediately answered by the moderator if this is what it needs (e.g. accounting Qs).

Recently having my "Posting Shackles" removed, I understand the frustration that goes along with "Moderator Review". The guidelines state to post often so you will be recognized and later approved. My advice would be to follow this but post wisely, in a positive manner, so the "Moderator" recognizes you as low to zero threat and maybe even a contributor. Losing one's cool and posting negatively will probably not help in finding freedom. Remember, the "squeaky wheel" only gets greased if someone chooses to listen to the "squeak".

Good luck in finding your freedom!

ct: this is what I meant by "out of context" nothing to do with anything written by you.

    JPLR73:

I can't see an ideal solution to this, but of the two options I'd rather be slotted in where the thread was when I posted.

If what you suggest were to happen it may be that when my/your post appears (often many hours after writing) it may be that someone else has already given the answer/observation you are giving.  The point made may even have been conclusively shown not to be true, at least this way it's clear when the poster was writing.

Either way, at least we know one person has read it :))

334 posts, still moderated - once unshackled, once reshackled and loving every minute of it. I take pride in my jailed status; a badge of honor in a world where only free men answer to no one. I admit, I'm a loose cannon, never reformed, a free spirit, an avant-garde legendary bohemian, a nonconformist, unconventional, always unpredictable and usually right.

WGT pays people to moderate my posts ... and that, my friends, is ironic justice around this place.

*Note to the mod reading this: Thank you for being you. I hope you have a wonderful day, and remember, someone loves you.
