Ok, I have now reached Amateur level and even started a CClub.

So now I have invested a $20 into the game...

Off i go looking at the 'sets' then i think to myself..

"Self...  perhaps its really only a few clubs and a ball you need to buy..."

    So..

My putting is average, I'd like to drive further and I'd like to spin better.

in YOUR opinion..  what d'ya reckon the best upgrade path is for me right now?

A full set of advanced STARTERS?

or maybe a sweet PING driver and a nice putter?

Personally i think getting a better driver is the 1st thing you need. Something around the 240-250 yard average mark helps alot.

Then get some wedges for better approach shots. I recommend the z-wedges. 54 degree goes 85yds and 60 degree goes 65yds. Also try these out at punch shots which widens your range of distances.

I waited until master tier to get a putter (TM daytona) but to be honest it doesn't really make putting all that easier, just a bit more forgiving if you do miss the line.

At amateur level the balls for 10credits a sleeve do just fine. I still use them now when i haven't got alot of cash. But if you wanna spend then anything with good feel rating is good to slow the meter right down so you can hit that new driver of yours straight everytime

    Hope this helps

for a beginner i would get the rapture clubs or if your looking to spend a bit more get the K15. For putter i would stick to the one your using or get the tour starters.

hi shrude,in my opinion upgrade to starters then learn get better with those clubs and stay with them until you get to master! then make the change as to already suggested rapture level 47 then get good putter,

the problem comes when you get to master level and beyond! that is why would wait then get your new clubs then makes the transition really smooth one

seen guys shooting 64 as tour pro got fancy clubs then bang they cannot shoot less than 70 hope this helps pal.

Dazza are you suggesting to get BOTH of those wedges or just offering the choice?

Probably the 54Deg would be a good option for one of them?

Going to get a Driver for now at least  :)

#1- Definitely a driver first....    I went with Raptures way back when, but there are a couple cheaper ones that will give you the same 245-250 yards. No point in breaking the bank now, you'll just want something longer & better when you move up tiers.

#2- Wedges ... I'd recommend the Z- Satin pro 64 & 60 degree wedges at 50yrds & 77 yrds. It looks like a big gap,  but with that tandem and using the punch shot, you actually have 77,63,50,41 .. and these will stop even the freebie ball very well. Throw in pitch shots of 24 & 13 yrds , flops of 26 & 15 yrds, and chips of 11 & 6 yrds and you're covered around the greens.

    Ok Good!

    Thanks again!

Looks like i will have to wait a bit more though. I'm at Level 21 and a couple of $700 drivers with 245 & 250 are unlocked at level 34 + 36

Ping g10 and TaylorMade Tour Burner

Those Z Satin Pros are a while off yet to unlock at L36

Get both the z wedges (unlocked at level 14). Gives you a good range with full shots and punch shots
