I have just played a Ready Go round. I have come to the conclusion that the round is rigged. Once you have a couple bogeys, it's all but impossible to get a birdie. The greens were suppose to be tournament but were more like a fast green. Putts that would normally go in just slid right by. I just advanced to Master and by what I've read, there is a set back to your clubs, of which you need to get use to. Has anyone else seen this happen or is it just me.

The "set back" is not to your clubs, it's to the tee. The clubs don't change but the ones you have to use now, from the longer tee, do. So now what you have to get used to is the new 2nd shot you will see -it's not as close as it used to be.

I would like to think the RGs aren't rigged but they are special in some way. Start with a couple of bogeys and it seems like you have to fight like crazy just to par out. Or start with 3 birdies and holes 4-9 are like you never played the game before. Other times every putt you hit goes in even when you miss the mark right after the round where you dinged and missed every one. Go figure.  :-)

I agree. I played 2 ready go St Andrew's full 18 yesterday and the first I shot a 61. The next I could only manage a 70. Considering the conditions are supposed to be the same. I couldn't buy a putt or a decent approach shot.

I understand, but it does make you wonder.  :)

What bugs me is the length of time it takes for the Ready Go to finish and the fact that you can't enter the same one while the one you're in is still active.

I just finished a full ST.A RG and could not make a putt. I'm not the best putter out there... But I do OK.  Missed 5/6 footers that I never miss. Slideing by on ether side of the cup. IT would show a small break and the ball would go straight ,or show  no break and the ball would move 2/3 ins. Does make one wonder???????

Posts like yours convince me, Boomer. I always think it's my imagination or I'm just having a bad day but you just described a very regular occurrence for me. By regular I mean it comes and goes, almost as if internal game settings were adjusted. Odd thing is, this is what the VEM supposedly does. Hmmmm.......

I hate to pour cold water on any conspiracy theories but unless you are one of the top players, having a good round, followed by a bad round, is very much par for the course. 2 weeks ago I shot 3 29s in four 9 holes, the next day I could barely break 34. Sometimes you're on the right side of the hole for putting, sometimes you're not.

I played the Oakmont 18 hole ready go the other week and played as well as I have ever done from tee to green. I walked off with a 72. The next time I played the same 18 hole ready go I hit 6 greens and shot a 64. Sometimes there really is no reason for it other than bad luck, poor putting and misfortune.....

Yes, Tiffer, but it's begging the question why? Why does that happen?

@jobeak-search VEM for some interesting reading
