rather than a usual moan about a meter issues, i 'm having odd things going on when clicking on the downswing.

basically i can't hit the ding, it won't happen. it either stops the millisecond i touch the button about 5mm left or when i click a little nearer the middle it pauses then skips 5mm right.

everything else clicks instantly only the page and 1 in 10 rounds it responds normally.

i'd quite happily be a WGT guinea pig to a test as to when the line stops in relation to when i click (if that's possible) or if anyone has any idea why it's not working properly?

the mouse is the same one that was responding happily until a few days ago and i've even tried gamebooster to see if it increases the response, nope.

real shame as i've happily played this game pretty much every day for a couple of months and loved it, but the last couple of days have really been a struggle. not enjoying seeing balls flying off left and right at random times:(

any help would be much appreciated

    Paul

Give this a try.  Pull the meter back then let it go...watching it carefully to gauge speed, but DO NOT click on the white line...let it past like any other practice swing.  While doing this, concentrate on where you would have clicked...focus.  Again, take the meter back and, with the same concentration, this time click on the white line.  I've found, when doing this, I hit very close to the mark even with free balls and with clubs that have a fairly fast meter speed.  Another thing is to use equipment that has similar meter speeds...this will keep consistency through out your bag.

Paul, clear your browsers cookies, and cache. Be sure to keep your Adobe website storage manager cleared except for the WGT web site. Joey's advice will work a lot better for you.

    cheers for the tips guys.

the problem, from what i can make out, is that there's a random difference in speed with the swing.

the meter either launches itself right when it hits the first left line of the target box, or it slows down when it touches the same line. totally random.

so although the practice swing (which i've used to good effect before) settles me and the game down i've no idea what the next swing is going to do. so i'm either getting the panic reflex button push on the fast swing which makes it go right, or i'm expecting it to go fast and push the button only to find it slowing down and i'm clicking way too early making it go left.

some have hypothesized that this is programmed deviation built in to the meter to prevent perfect-click software from being effective. If this is indeed how wgt has chosen to deal with such cheat software, it does nothing but punish the honest players. If this is part of the 'beast' or 'vemmie', same result, it prevents a players talent level from determining the outcome of the game.

All of this, of course, is pure speculation. wgt is not about to release any trade secrets.

one possible problem he is having that he has about 3 or 4 different swing speeds in his bag. I had about the same a few months back and it is very difficult to gauge the meter when you have so many different speeds.

Paul, the G-10 irons with the GI-SD golf ball should make your meter fairly easy to strike a excellent hit. It really isn't that fast. But like Sting said, if you have a lot of different swing speed clubs, it tends to get confusing, and there's no equipment to slow-down club swing speeds equally.

I don't believe the theory of a deviation programmed in the swing meter either. Since I noticed the flash animations going on during game-play causing meter trouble during a swing, my meter hasn't glitched, stuttered, or lagged one time since. I wait for the club name to change before making a shot, and haven't had any meter problems whatsoever as a result. Seriously.

I have been having major meter probles as well the past 3-4 days

    totally random as well...

1 second the game is fine &  the next the meter is jerking all over the place  and I have a matched set of clubs..

not real happy with it either..  losing balls that are paid for because of server lag or a meter glitching is a huge PITA...

i agree completely, i was a bit worried that the move away from Raptures would ruin my game but bizarely i find it easier to hit near the middle with a faster meter. it seems smoother aswell, well it used to.

nope, the whole bag apart from the putter is the same speed. even went back to trying the G-12's for a few holes, still the same problem.

i've either been terribly lucky to miss this variable meter speed issue before or something is up with WGT or at my end.
