Can we please call a truce here?  It would be a great shame to see this descend into a forum fight.

Tasor mentioned to me in a PM the other day that he'd never seen me write a post in German.  The reason is I'm from England, I've lived in Germany for over 11 years and can converse perfectly well.  However I am far more comfortable writing in English, it's my mother tongue and I'm naturally far more fluent in it.  In German it is very easy for me to miss the tone of something, only slightly but enough to miss some nuance that is being suggested.   Equally, when I write or say something I have to be very careful how I choose my words, in case they come across wrong.

In a nutshell, I have a feeling this is what has happened here.  A none (I assume) native English speaker writing a comment that is then read by another none native speaker (again, I assume).

Where no insult was intended, one is perceived.

    +1!

The haka shouting may be fierce, the game relentless, but look into their eyes smiling and shake hands when the game is over - that's sportsmanship!

Both teams showed their strength in the respective matches, now we may relax and share a drink!

South Africa and RotW are only one stroke apart, and everything will be decided in these last few hours by the 3 remaining players in each team... no pressure! :-)

Wow, that game is too close    lol

    Nail-biting !!!

Gr8 to see that S.A. made it through to the finals of The Nations Cup !!

I was checking out the results after midnight last night (my time -2 GMT) hoping that either one of our two remaining Champions would play before the cut-off, but neither managed to post a score.

We are all going to have to play our 'A' game to beat Germany (and I know we can do it).

No matter what the end result, this has been great fun.

    Regards,

    Ian (bobcourt)

As a side point: .... BRIDGESTONE GOLF country club has THREE members playing in the finals (Mainzman for Germany, Fravel and bobcourt for South Africa !!!!

That`s fine, Ian! Btw: Walhall has FIVE players playing in the finals for Germany: teigtreter, Nobby1968, kirk2010, alex62 and me.

(No offence, mate, I am just very proud and happy about so many of my members are active and successfull in this fantastic tourney.)

Must we play WK 52 Single (Oakmont) this week for the final? Or is this week only for the Bronze Round?
