I have a feeling that the game is getting more difficult the higher level I reach.
My driver seems to lose distance, so on some holes I experience trouble I did not had before. I also notice that other clubs (irons and fairway woods) loose length.

In addition I seem to have more trouble hitting exact on the meeter.

Anyone of you know what changes with higher level?

I also noticed that my score average does not increase anymore with bad rounds. Anyone knows anything about that?

    Tom.

As of yet nobody has really determined or said your level affects play. I believe it doesn't but I do believe there are other forces at work that do make things more difficult as you become better.

Your average hasn't  gone up since the update over 3 months ago because the rounds above your average don't mean anything. Your average is only affected by the sub-average rounds you shoot- pretty good deterrent to sandbagging.

Heh-everybody has trouble hitting exact sometimes. IMO if you're aggravated by the game or something else it will affect your dinging. Take a break, change something, play a CTTH-basically, get out of a rut you might be in, mental or otherwise. It will come back.  GL

I see what you mean, and I too had the impression that clubs, meeter and so does not change with level.
But as an example take #7 on st. Andrews. You have to drive over the edge, and that was before no problem with my Ping Rapture pro 10.5. I could take wind from ahead up to about 15 mph. Lately however, I have had problems even with moderate sidewind, expesially from right.
This morning I had 14 mph from left, the easy sidewind. I aimed a bit left and hit the meeter "excelent".  Still I could not come over the edge and reach the fareway.
I give no top or backspin when driving here. Earlier I have used topspin here to roll longer, but then the ball goes lower, so to get more carry I use no topspin here.
Seems the only thing I can do is upgrade my driver.
If the level interact on the behavior of clubs, meeter, ... then WGT can sell more equipment. Can that be an issue?
Of course I can go left on #7 and take a 190-200 yds club to the green.

    Thank you for other hints.
    Tom.

You have this backwards, Tom. Use the back spin off the tee to get the ball to carry. Unless you bury it in the side of a mound you will get the distance. Try it-full backpsin on your driver.

This game is different than most because it actually adjusts to your skill. As you get better it gets harder. Not dramatically but in ways that keep you from just playing the exact same shot from the exact same place every time. Ya gotta think!   GL    :-)

@sicko-It's different in the Pro tiers and I believe for Masters (not sure about them.) What I told Tom was applicable to TMs, which is what he is. Pro's and Tour Pros averages still go up and down. It used to be based on your best 10 of the last 14. That may have changed in the last update.

At Tour Master level, you have to hit 240yds to clear the rough on the 7th hole. What level is your Ping driver unlocked at? It may not be long enough to clear it. What you could do is on the first or second fairway of SA, see what the yardage reads when your ball lands on the fairway.

    Hi
I am Tour Master, level 52, ave 65.58.
My driver, Ping Rapture V2 pro 9.5 deg. was bought together with my iron set and fairway woods in march 2010. Long before level was introdused.

When I look up clubs they compare with my current equipment. My driver then shovs 255 yds as estimated distance.
I understand that is carry + roll. On some holes the carry alone is the most important, as on #7 St. A.

I will try to "lift" up the ball with backspin as suggested.
The ball then will be more exposed for the wind, so I am curious to see how it works on St. A. #7 with wind from ahead, but it is worth a try.

Regarding going up and down in average, I notices that lately you can shoot high scores now without going up in average.
This means there is no point quitting a game due to high score anymore.

    Tom.

They reset your average when you reach a new tier so it only includes rounds in your current tier. So your average will still go up and down until you shoot x no. of rounds as a tour pro. wgt refuses to tell us more info...
