Is any one else experiencing a memory leak still?

Since the last update my pc has gotten better, but I still have the leak. The good thing is I can make it through an 18 hole match play unless there is a disconnect.

I start of around 200 mb of ram used and 20% pc usage, by the end of an 18 hole match I am between 800 mb and 1gb of ram with 40-50% of pc usage.

I thought before I started working on my pc again I would ask.

Thanks for the input in advance!

Yes it's still a problem.  Just in a solo stroke play round I start between 150-200 and I end 600-700 sometimes over 1gb.  I can usually make it threw 9 holes in stroke, match play and alt without refreshing but not always.  If playing 3-4 person skins good chance I'll have to refresh to finish the 9 holes.  If I hit 700-800 the meters can get sketchy.  I always refresh my browser after each game.

Whiteouts here are getting a bit beyond a joke.

About time WGT updated their flash, tried another browser and if that does not work try another server.  If none of that works get a decent programmer working on a half decent server, and finally do something useful.  Leave new ideas to discuss new clapping noises....

Yes it is still there. In another thread someone suggested using "Memory Fox". It is an add-on fire Firefox which actively recaptures memory.

Once installed, there is an option "Activate Memory Fox - All Processes". I have found that if I turn this on it recaptures memory no matter what browser you use, even when Firefox is closed. It works great (at least in XP).

I seriously doubt WGT is doing anything related to Flash period. Why would they? Not unless they have an 'end of life' scenario built in for the game and are fine with limping along til then.

What they should be doing if they want to continue on, say past maybe another year or so, is either port to HTML5 or go Unity. Flash(games) is very easy to port to HTML5, there will some aspect that will need to be reworked no doubt, but the Flash portion of the game shouldn't be an issue.

Unity is a bad bad choice for web deployment, it's not a very good tool for that, and even worse for mobile platforms. Perhaps U5 sees some advancements in that area, but 4 is not a very good option.

I think it's pretty obvious that WGT has issues as a place to work, with respect to game development. I suspect that either their compensation package is horrid or the working environment is, or perhaps both. Whichever is the case, it's pretty clear they can't attract or keep talented programmers/dev people. I know that if they pass along the same level of revenue generation and greed culture to the people working on the game, well... No wonder there's a revolving door.

I also don't think there are many people who actually work on this game, the golf side of things, I'm willing to bet there are like two people, three max. Whatever the case it's obvious it's not working out very well for them. This game in all aspects is a mess, gone from pretty good three years ago to totally broken and damn near unplayable for most, excluding Apex, who seems to be piped directly right into the main server running next-rev versions of the game.

They should change the Beta tag back to Alpha cuz - ya......

There is no repairing Flash, no update they can do on their end that will fix anything. Moving to a more reliable content deployment company would probably help immensely as mentioned somewhere on here, because as most people with even a basic understanding of how games and gaming works with respect to web-fed games know - It's not on your end.

Now, cut that RAM in 1/2 or 3/4 (like most have) and play a few games without  closing out and restarting. That's when you see the difference. Big RAM like that would take a while to cause a problem.

Too much ram, and depending on how fast it is will also cause problems.  Generally, this game takes no resources at all.  As I have said before, cpu utilization for my rig is 0%.

Wow, and when you start your round you have 2.94 Gb in use.  What do you have running in the background.

I seem to be immune from this problem so this is a shot in the dark -

When I play I have this on my gameclient window. It is part of Advanced System Care 8 (free version).

I got into the habit of using it at top of backswing, i would hit when the cpu usage had settled. Nowadays I barely look at it as I rarely if ever get a twitchy meter. The game is running (for me) better than since Pinehurst was released.

Now to my point, the brush at left of icon is a ram cleaner, I occasionally use it (in game) if it gets towards 20% ram. When it goes to 15% a message pops up saying' optimal ram usage' or similar.

Would using  this help those with memory leak issues?
