Well..... it would have been a heckuva round if not for 2 holes.

Third hole I just tried to hit a precision shot, twice, after missing right of the green (What the heck are you doing up there ???)  Got it on the green with my 4th shot (Yay!) and 2 putted from 40 some feet.

Not sure what happened to the drive on the other mess but it didn't carry 195yds even with the steep downhill, full b/s, and a tailwind.  Second shot was from light brush and went straight up, went 7 yds with a full swing 90yd wedge. Finally got back to the fairway, still 240 from the green.  Made a real nice putt for the 7. :-)

Yeah, yeah, no screen shots you can't win a prize.

    Dave

If I was smart enough to cheat I'd be smart enough to take a screen shot. :-)

2nd round was a train wreck starting with two double bogeys and going downhill from there. Not worth the time to verify the score, by the 18th hole I was worn out, but as always a fun and challenging tourney. Thanks to Corwyn and all the gracious sponsors who make this happen!

    Starting R2 now ...

Edit: 12:54pm -- still going... after closing game client multiple times due to CPU overload... and now having to break off to collect from school (I'm coming up the last, -3!)

    LOL, Mags!

Yup, super slow today... I can't remember having to stop and close the game client quite so often before. My CPU was just going crazy... and I got one horrible meter stutter (in fact, it was a stop more than a stutter) that led to a botched 6ft birdie putt on #15).

Anyway, apart from all the reloads, I was really enjoying thinking my way round the course, and weighing up the risks of certain shots... and, of course, taking notes all the way through for the round report. A very satisfying round in the end, despite a few missed chances (12ft on #3, 6ft easy putt on #15 with horrible meter stop, 18ft tough one on #16, 11ft easy putt pushed on #18), which were offset by some lucky breaks (30 footers on #2 and #10, and the avoiding of serious trouble on several holes).

Here's the tale of the tape (wind speed and direction noted after each hole number):

*extra screenshots show my adventures off (two) tees on the 14th, on getting a nasty headwind*

#1 15@12 lucky to get tailwind to begin with D221>217 mishit 2nd bounced long 22yds on green, 65ft lag putt right on line but 1.4ft short PAR

#2  15@130 D232 >116, tried punch approach after having very nice result with that shot in practice, running it over ridge, but didn't risk tight enough line to left bunker, but nonetheless on 10yds away, woo hoo! made 30ft putt with just enough pace wow! BIRDIE

#3 12@1 hit slightly early lost power on 150club 4yds short, pushed 12ft putt and slightly high anyway, 2ft save PAR

#4 13@6 D196 >272, 2nd layup to flatter area r-side 156>122, pushed 3rd with good yardage to use slope, wasted chance, lucky to reach and then to hold fringe past pin, too  much on fringe putt 22 14d (hard to guess amount of fringe) and 6ft past! and solid dinged 6ft return par save PAR

#5  17@1130 chokedD to go 246 and stay on right-side >191, tried 170fbs to bounce it on but way short, landed on upslope, distance pretty good with flop but chickened out too much on line, doh! 19ft to right, just missed on low side, 2ft BOGEY

#6  13@130 goodD>195, wasn't sure 190 could get there, but way long with 205fbs through back, pretty good 50%flop to 1yd, sunk 4ft save PAR

#7 17@230 dingedD too far left!!! and into 30-40 rough, wow, and 2nd shot slope didn't affect it much at all, and slid off into nasty sidehill lie for 3rd!, and short with 3rd, lost too much with deliberate early click against slope and wind, aarghh, what a mess!, and flopped 2yds past, and made 6ft curler, phew! once again avoided a big number BOGEY

#8 17@115 goodD>304, good 3W up left side >111, damn, came up short with 8iron, even adding quite a bit and rolled back off ridge, poor, poor, poor! and badly short with lag putt, 5.4ft left and horrible break, but somehow made it, phew! PAR

#9  15@745 hit 150fbs almost full, pin-hi but not enough allowance for wind 3yds left, mishit 9.8ft putt slightly but still went in, slow enough to take all the break  BIRDIE

#10  13@115 dingD 231>152, good chance but went way long with 2nd (I find that approach very hard to judge distance), but sunk another 30ft beauty!  BIRDIE

#11  11@6 tee shot flew way right on slight mishit, heart-in-mouth fearing brush lie on mound, but lucky to avoid it, pushed 2nd a little and got lucky to avoid bunker, phew!, and struck super 69yard PW into wind and with upslope, not far off holing it, for 1.2ft PAR

#12 16@1045, dinged98%Dfbs to take advantage of bounce off side of the hill and roll round nicely past flag, then sunk eagle putt double-breaker from 13ft woo hoo!  EAGLE

#13 18@1045 D to left>241 2nd hit 4iron  for placement >80, bad push on 3rd with perfect distance should have left tap-in but buried 10ft par putt dead centre, woo hoo! another steal on perhaps hardest hole on course PAR

#14 18@5 ouch!!! lol. Was fairly sure I couldn't reach any part of fairway so aimed for front tee area with 7iron with goal of just avoiding double-bogey  still had >340 to go 2nd shot 216 from a tee with Driver >125 but found downhill lie hmmmm mishit 3rd when really needed ding and came up short, little overdone with flop from 9yds leaving a bit of work to do from 4ft and made the 4ft putt for single BOGEY

#15 12@430 hit 160fbs 99% dinged aim 19left, to 6ft short slightly right, got terrible meter stop on downswing, damn! and massive pull to miss easy birdie aaargghhh! PAR

    #16 15@530 D204 >136 dinged150club but came up 6yds short, not enough break on 18ft try downhill and 3ft by, 3.5ft PAR

#17  12@245 slight push, 3yds short right, and dinged 9ft putt dead centre all the way, yes! BIRDIE

#18 14@830 solid D 218 >283 lay-up to flat area of fairway for 3rd >110 played 3rd long to roll back to 11ft but pushed the putt to miss low, oh dear!  PAR

Hats off to you! Four birdies and an eagle is not something I thought was remotely possible.

    Hi There,

Never a quitter but I had to forfeit the tournament because i noticed the last second that I was playing with different wedge so it is against the tournament rules and I forfeited for the sake of it...

    Thank you for understanding...

    TG

    Corwyn:
Thanks for your post. It really helps me to know of your acceptance and reaction to the 'uproar'. I am now reversing my earlier decision, and will not include yours amongst the validated scores, not because I have any doubt as to its legitimacy, but because I need to be fair to all participants.

Thank you very much Corwyn but I couldn't bring up the will to do 3 practicse rounds,
