Just so we're clear on the subject: ALL prizes will be divided among the 6 (or possibly 5) players out of 250 who were able to follow the instructions?

    Yes, that's exactly right mm!

I really hope you're not still complaining about this tournament, put on through the generous donation of time and sponsorships by community players, and supported by WGT.

Sure, it ain't perfect. We dearly wish the restricted-club programming worked properly, but as has been explained at length, it doesn't, and I am running these events with rules that make the best of it (see opening page post 'The Future of TIO' if you want to see the Pros and Cons of other options). Whenever I've tried to add some leniency, I've been rightly criticized for not following the rules to the letter... so that's what I'm going to do.

I suggest you make an effort to follow the rules too if you want a prize, or if you can't, please stop moaning about it.

I too wish I didn't have to take that extra greenshot screenshot, but really ... is it that hard? I've gone to considerable trouble to provide examples of what's required, and How-To descriptions and videos, to make it as easy as possible.

And, as for remembering to do it, well, in the early days of TIO, I adopted the hi-tech solution of writing on a piece of paper in big letters with a sharpie "REMEMBER SCREENSHOT" and posted-it to the edge of the monitor. You could also just try taking a screenshot on every green (so you get in the habit), and then discard the unnecessary ones.

In the end, it's really up to you as to whether you can be bothered, but to be frank, this is perhaps the easiest way to get sleeves on WGT (short of a salacious profile pic).

I did a quick count-up and these TIO tourneys have generously gifted more than a 100 sleeves in prizes since January (probably over 60,000 cr worth). Those have been donated by WGT, myself and many others (you are notable by your absence however).

    ------------------------

Please note: there is now just under 5 hours left for anyone still out there to finish their Round 2. Good luck!

One of the most adventurous TIO rounds for me. After the blur of Rd1 in 25 mins(albeit with speed boost),Rd2 was much better.

#1: Got a bit late on approach shot and left a nasty side hill lie.Missed the green left but chipped it in for a par save.

#2:Hit the fairway mound which shot the ball forward towards the bunker. But somehow stayed up in the rough with a horrible orange DH-SH lie.Plucked out my 3w from 138and aimed 40yds right of flag and played a Miguel Angel Jimenezesque hook which curled beautifully to 18 ft.Shaved the right to miss out on the unlikeliest of birdies.Par.

#3: Stuck it 4ft right below the hole.Birdie

#4:Managed to hold the green with the 3rd and curled it in from 12 ft.Birdie

#5: 3 shotter but was too far to get it right side for angle.Ended up with bunker between ball and hole for 3rd so played safe for bogey.

#6: Took on the front bunker with 2nd shot and failed!3rd shot just made front of green.Lagged in from 90 ft for a bogey,

#7:Poor layup with 2nd put in the brush.Played out sideways.Nearly holed out the approach shot for par.Tap in bogey.

#8:Didnt get in high enough on the approach and stayed down.Putt just stayed on higher side.Par.

#9:Stuck approach shot to 1.5 ft. Birdie!

#10:Routine approach just short of green.Easy up and in for par

#11:Good third shot left 5 ft for par but putt darted right of the face.Bogey

#12: Hit what i thought was the perfect tee shot. Somehow managed to stay up on a cliff 48 ft away :(.. Hit the 48 ft less than 3 ft and it rolled 3.5 ft by.. Birdie

#13:Tough layup. Played 3rd just right of mound to leave a chance for par. Missed it for a bogey.

#14:Took 4 shots to reach but made the putt for bogey

#15: Missed just right of green. Really quick chip went 6 ft by.Made the par save.

#16:Approach shot died well short. Then this from 51 ft

#17: Short and right. Routine up and in for par.

#18 : 3rd shot to middle of green. Missed putt .par.

Oh great, I made the nicest person on WGT turn into the Incredible Hulk. Now I feel bad.

No, Corwyn, I'm not trying to angle for a prize. I know the rules and I didn't follow them; I was merely startled at the picture of a tournament where 99% or more of entrants also failed.

I apologize for the combative tone I took initially in this thread. It was completely out of line. I sometimes write and rewrite and end up boiling my thoughts down into something that has a very different tone than intended when read by someone else.

Next time we have a TIO event here, I'll do what I was planning to do in this thread: compare and contrast it with my experiences playing on the real course this summer. (Spoiler: Don't hit it onto the hillside left of #4. Or the hillside left of #8. Or any hillside at all.)

    Oh, and:

    Corwyn:

I did a quick count-up and these TIO tourneys have generously gifted over 100 sleeves in prizes since January (over 60,000 cr worth). Those have been donated by WGT, myself and many others (you are notable by your absence however).

...No kidding? I thought I sponsored something earlier this year. Did I not? I will remedy that situation... but I'm not keen on the idea of sponsoring while only a few people (16% of whom have won the virtual tour championship) are consistently meeting the requirements. And are you planning a TIO tournament next month at all, given the UEL Ryder Cup schedule?

Apology accepted, mm. Thank you. And I'm sorry too for turning 'Hulkish'!

As I've written in that opening page post, I don't see it as a failure that 99% of the entrants didn't submit for prizes: I'd much rather that as many players as possible saw the tourney in the game client list and got to experience this format of play (and discovered that you can have a variety of challenges on WGT and not be confined to throwing darts).

I think it's a sign that almost nobody reads the forums, or even looks at the event description on the leaderboard (if they bother checking the full leaderboard rather than just seeing where they fall on the instant leaderboard in the game client).

Anyway, my hope is that each month, more players will see and read the information that prizes are available and try and get it together to submit next time around.

    Re: next month...

I'm still not sure what to do. I'm leaning towards delaying the next TIO until November (the October VT is Wolf Creek CCTH anyway) and doing 2 events simultaneously as we did in August (Merion as the delayed October one, and Olympic for November, as per the VT schedule).

But... I'm also concerned as to whether the UEL Ryder Cup will work at all. Quite a few of the qualified players have reached a point of total frustration with the glitches in the game, and I'm not certain that the state of multiplayer will make the event possible.

I've been super busy with a real-life project (and will be for a couple more weeks) but hope to connect with a few players this week to test multiplayer after this upcoming 'server maintenance'. And I'll get the Time Availability Chart up and out there later this week too.
