    Hi World Golf Tour

I just finished playing a game and was very blessed to have a win over a Master player.  My average did not go down?  Could you tell me why this might be happening?

    regards; Swingawaynow

Your average as a Tour Pro is calculated from your best 25 scores. If the score in question is higher than any of those 25, then it will not be used in the calculation of your average.

(Scores from par 3 & 5 courses are excluded from the calculation as they would skew the average)

Which kind of game was it? Strokeplay? Match?  ???

Edit: Was it rated/ranked or practice?

I don't see any rated match in your activity - these are the only ones which might drop the average.

As I understand it only match play wins over a higher tier player lowers your average and I didn't see any match play wins over a master. Only a few match play wins over other tour pros. Just winning against a higher tier player in a regular ranked stroke play round if your score is not below your average won't lower your average.

It was as you say, but according to my experience it has changed some time ago.
I have won several match play matches against higher tiers (mostly TM, but a few Legends too): my average no longer goes down. I have to say that I don't play for credits ... this might be the key factor.

Don't think it has changed. Usually, when I beat a higher-ranked player, my average goes down, but it's not always posted immediately.

Well, I might agree if your notion of "not always immediately" could expand into the "months" range ...

My average was about 65.xx and it lowered (in the past) to 64.00 thanks to MP wins over higher tier players. Now I am stuck at 64.00, no matter if I win against a TM or Legend (match play, ranked game, no forfeit, no concede except on putts).

There may be many explanations: you maybe should play for credit; or the improvements are saturated away after a certain score; or WGT took note that I am not spending money & black-listed my account ... I don't know. Anyway, my 2 cents of experience seem to be enough to argue that the "rule" is more complicated than the one proposed above.
