Leave it as it is now please.

If any change is made it should be to have the option of "Timer Off"

    Two reasons come to mind:

I play A/S with a group of friends every evening for an 18 hole Alt Shot. We pretty much have played every night for the last 6 months while talking on Raid Call. Not often but often enough something (phone call, wife asking questions, child needing attention) will require us all to slow down and sometimes one will time out a few times. However we still want to play on losing one hole is no problem.  If we could play with "Timer Off" we would not have this problem.

As mentioned by another poster I often find myself with a new player trying to teach them a few things about the game.  A "Timer Off" option would be helpful in this case as well to be able to answer questions more fully.

As mentioned elsewhere in this thread the sole focus for WGT right now should be on fixing the problems with memory leaks and disconnects.

With a strong majority voicing their displeasure with the idea, in the high 90 percentile at least, why even keep this thread alive?  Wouldn't the time taken to post this foolish question be better spent asking a general question of what your customers really want?

Unless this is just a ploy for a temporary distraction to the numerous other important bugs going on, it was a total waste of time.

This proposed timer restrictions is a typical poor WGT solution to an almost nonexistent problem. Implementing it would create much more problems than it would solve. As a minimum an absolutely stable working multiplayer game would be needed before that proposal had a chance to even work.

And then there is still the little problem that most existing delays happen for a legitimate and sometimes unavoidable reason. I see no sense in forcing to abort the game in those cases.

I never so far encountered anyone that abused the current timer. The proposed new one would probably frequently lead to aborted games about which none of the affected players would be happy.

If you want to change anything give the players more influence. For example give them the option to reset the disconnect timer to zero when their opponent gets disconnected.

If you still think this change is needed than definitely only use it in games that are not between friends. Otherwise you will just annoy your customers with games that are even less reliable than they are now.

Just fix all the bugs before you do anything, people are getting tired of all the disconnects and crashes

Erm, FWIW, 90% of 1% ain't a whole lot. You forget it's the other 99% that don't come to the forums that WGT listens to. You know, the ones that do all the e-mailing.

    ScottHope:

I have not seen vast quantities of posts asking for the shot clock penalties to be altered so I don't see why this is even being brought up.

For me, the browser memory leakage is still one of the major issues with the game so I'd rather you focussed your attention on that please, thank you.

    Yup - what he said.....

btw i have found myself in a pick up game where the SC was set at 30 secs....didnt realize it until after the first warning then I forgot and did it again.....so - I'm not sure this is a great idea.....find something else to fix rather than change/add features/gameplay.   Mmmmmkay
