    WGTicon:

    Hi everyone,

We would like to hear your thoughts re a scenario below. Please feel free to mention other thoughts/ideas you have on how to improve shot clock penalties.

    ----------------

We are thinking about changing the shot clock timer penalties and would like to hear from you what you think. If a player times out the shot clock the first time (s)he will get a warning.  If (s)he times after another 30 seconds, (s)he will be automatically disqualified from the game.

We are proposing that we remove the one and two shot penalties completely so players who time out are removed from the game and you don't have to wait for for each shot clock to run out before the player is finally removed

    ----------------

    -WGTicon

Don't do anything with the shot clock timer. Why not concentrate on fixing the multi play disconnections, as they are the biggest problem on here by a country mile.

Maybe somebody should start a thread, if there is not one going already about what a person did/didn't do just before they got disco'd.

We all hear everybody is getting disconnected, but what actually did they do to make the game end.  eg did they look at a persons stats or did they click concede hole etc.

State what browser, version of flash, what type of puter.

Maybe Wgt might get some kinda of idea if the same thing gets written.

    Just saying.

Oh by the way,  I think leave the timer alone for now

Not a bad idea as it would help WGT and warn us players.

As for the timer, I too plead they do not touch it.....problems will no doubt compound.

I heard through the grapevine, that the latest issues were caused when the programmers tried to delete a player and remove 0014 from another...............

.....I have to agree...the continual disconnects (esp in multi-player games) seems to be the biggest snafu currently.  I would suggest not disqualifying a team after 3 disconnects until the issue is fixed....it's to the point where it's now simply a game of attrition ....whomever crashes out 3 times first, loses.  I've been involved in a ton of games where this is the case, often by the 3rd or 4th hole.

ps. Thank-you WGT for the opportunity to provide input on this issue. In the past few updates, it seems the IT guys are making adjustments or additions, irrespective of what the players want or what is needed.....and often these tweaks just lead to more glitches.

Heh, I saw Icon's post before anybody responded and my first thought was how callous it was of WGT to send Icon into the jungle to see if the apes would like another banana. Then the thought that they're fooling around with a minor issue in the face of the mess they've created led me to believe that what we all want fixed is going to fall by the wayside in lieu of a stupid timer.

    Why bother asking anything?

Maybe we should start asking for things we don't want in hopes of them adding something we do/would want?

    LOL
